Brett Favre threw a touchdown pass to Visanthe Shiancoe with less than 2 minutes to play in the game for the final margin. The play prompted Dallas linebacker Keith Brooking to confront Childress on the sideline and call it "disgusting and classless," accusing the Vikings of running up the score.

"People can do what they want," coach Wade Phillips said on Wednesday. "That's what they chose to do. It's not what I would've done."

WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....

I don't know why Wade Phillips is accusing Brad Childress of running up the score. That implies that Childress is capable of coherent game planning, which clearly he is not.

Totally embarrassing for the Cowboys to cry like that.

Wade Phillips was a coach of the San Diego team that killed the Patriots, and afterward he explained in a very classy way, "We kicked their arse!"

How can any self respecting man COMPLAIN about "running up the score". Honestly, I'll never understand it. You are basically saying that you wish the other person would patronize you by not trying anymore, all the while you'd be completely glad to try your best to win that game.

It's embarrassing when people getting payed millions of dollars to play a game complain about anything, really.

Wade Phillips being fired is inevitable. The guy sucks as a head coach.

The Viking hometown newspapers are defending their team; I've almost forgotten what that was like.

Putting down claims of running it up | StarTribune.com

Some of the Cowboys got huffy about the Vikings scoring late in last year's playoff game. The Purple's message: Get over it.

Not to get off topic, but can you imagine the reaction if Belichick made the same comment that Childress did?
In an extremely candid moment, Childress then added: "It'd probably be a good idea to cover somebody. Generally on defense, you've got to cover the deep plays."

Maybe the Vikings should complain about the Cowboys ratcheting up the suck in that game.

Hell I would run up the score on the Cowboys if I could. They need a little humble pie to calm down their raging egos. One of those teams will be 1-4 and looking at historically bad odds at making the playoffs.

Vikings know the odds are against Sunday's loser making the playoffs - TwinCities.com
"Since 1990, when the NFL expanded to its 12-team postseason format, 240 teams have qualified for the playoffs but only five that started 1-4 — a minuscule 2 percent."

As far as the Cowboys and Vikings are concerned, the only thing better than one of these two teams missing the playoffs would be for both of them to miss the playoffs.

Visanthe Shiancoe has proposed the following changes to the NFL.

1. If one team gets a 22 point or more lead the game is over. (Mercy rule)

2. Everyone plays at least 1/3 the game. (No fair that Hoyer has to watch but doesn't get to play).

3. After the game, win or lose everyone gets an ice cream cone. (with sprinkles!!!!)

4. The fans are permitted to cheer good plays (and are encouraged to cheer all the players, not just one team) booing is prohibited and will get you kicked out.

I think both are already banned at Gillette.
