Isn't Luck a third year sophomore? As good as he is now, he really needs to stay in school and complete his junior year next season.

I wonder if the thought of playing in Buffalo would scare him into returning to school for a year. Let them take a qb this year. And, maybe a better organization takes him next year. Or, maybe a worse one takes him like oakland in 2012. Tough call.

Panthers, Browns, and Bills could all possibly be looking for new QBs, so lets hope Luck declares.

That would give us a better shot at getting the guy we want.

Even with their pathetic record, Carolina has a weak schedule ahead. They have about 6 winnable games. I still them finishing around the same spot as the Raiders. That would be with around 5-6 wins. Looking at the other bottom feeding contenders' schedule, I would predict at best the 5th pick and at worst the 10th. Still not bad.

Now, with all the trade downs for future picks and so on, I believe that Belichick has kept a scorecard of how much value points he has gained in those trades and how much value points he can give up to move up in the draft and still have value points left over on his side. With high picks in rounds 1 & 2, this has to be the draft where Bill moves up to get at least 2 players he considers immediate starters and likely impact players.

If McFadden is healthy for week-6 @SF, the Raiders could even their record at 3-3. However, that would set up a "battle of the decade" with the 0-6 Niners at the 0-5 Panthers in week-7 (edge to the Niners).

A video that sums up how us following this thread felt last Sunday:
YouTube - I hate football

Poor San Diego! Their fans need to be lined up outside AJ smith's office with firewood, kindling and tons of matches. He lets Tomlinson go a year early, he let's the Jackson thing linger as a massive distraction and worst yet, he still has Turner as his coach!

Week 5 Standings

Upon further consideration, Brother ConnFan has swayed me to include the entire projected schedule in my tracking Strength of Schedule...

1 ~ Miners 0-5 ~ 39-37
2 ~ Panthers 0-5 ~ 44-32
3 ~ Buffaloes 0-5 ~ 43-30
4 ~ Lions 1-4
5 ~ Browns 1-4
6 ~ Cowboys 1-3
6 ~ Vikings 1-3
8 ~ Rams 2-3 ~ 33-43
9 ~ Chargers 2-3 ~ 38-38
10 ~ Broncos 2-3 ~ 39-38
11 ~ Raiders 2-3 ~ 38-37
12 ~ Bengals 2-3 ~ 39-36

As it stands, we're looking at:

#11 + #34

Oakland 2-4 (Lost to SF Today!!!)

@ Denver next week...

this will be good for us (If they lose) because it could push them to bottom of the division!

Carolina 0-5 (Bye)

vs. San Fran next week

Hopefully San Fran can continue their winning streak as they can hopefully jump Oakland in the loser standings and (obviously) send Carolina to 0-6!!!

From your KeyBoard to the Gods' lips, sir!! :rocker:

Huge day for the pick. SF gets off the mat and defeats the Raaaiiiiiiddddddaaaaahhhhssss! After this week against Carolina, SF home for a month, home, bye , home and home. Hopefully, they pass Oakland. Still think they can win 5-7 games. We need Oakland to go 4-12. Oak travels to Denver next Sunday. Come on Josh, Lawrence, Jabbar, K.Eckel,
D. Graham, R. Hochstein. Help your boys out!!

Detroit lost S. Hill. But, has a bye and Stafford should be back. I think they can win 4-5 games. Will probably have played a tougher schedule than Oakland too.

I think it's pretty much a lock that Buffalo and Carolina pick 1-2. Cleveland has a brutal schedule. Mangini has them playing good defense and special teams. I always hated Texas with a passion. But, Colt McCoy seemed like a great kid in college. Didn't let the hype go to his head. Didn't ***** and moan when didn't win Heisman and team got shafted in 08. He looked pretty good against the Steelers in his first start. They may have their qb. Going to be difficult for them to get 4 wins. They get carolina at home. And have some road games they might be able to win Jax, Buffalo and Cincy. But, going to be tough.

Broncos should be in a foul mood on Sunday. Those AFC West games are usually pretty wild. They all hate each other. But, the Broncos feel they got hosed yesterday. But, they're still in the race for Div. title. I expect their A game. Moreno really provided a spark to their running game yesterday. Orton has been solid all year.

The raiders are not a great team. The chargers really could have helped us but they blew that game.Only Norv Turner can lose those type of games. They have the broncos then the seahawks and the chiefs. Those teams are better then the raiders right now including the seahawks:D

Funny thing about the Draft TieBreakers: Because Strength of Schedule, being, obviously, the #1 most logical TieBreaker, is the 1st one ~ don't ask me why it isn't, when determining PlayOff teams!! ~ things get VERY quirky when Division Mates are tied. Why??

14 out of 16 games are effectively identical!!

And THAT means that if, say, the Chargers, Broncos, and Raiders remain tied at the end of the year, their draft order will be determined by the records of 2 opponents, each!!

I'm glad we're not playing the Raiders, this year...

That is a little out-dated isn't it. We would improve their SOS. A couple of teams with one loss now will have probably played tougher schedules by the end of the season in Cleveland and Detroit. Just need them to get as many wins as the Raiders.

Especially when college football basically determines their championship game by SOS.

Of course, we ARE playing the Buffaloes, Week 16, this year...

Imagine if our 1st Seed is locked up, by then...Hmm?? ;)

Tough town to play a road game in December, Buffalo...Ayup.

The problem is Buffalo is so awful . . .

[Match Game]How awful are they?[/Match Game]

. . . that the Patriots might not be able to lose that game even if they intentionally tried.

It's funny 'cause it's TRUE!! :D

Yeah, Beefalo pretty much OWNS that pick...

STILL...

1 ~ The Miners are exceptionally well led, and play a very weak division...
2 ~ The Lions are a young, talented team, starting to play good ball...
3 ~ The Browns are actually playing real tough, and are poised for a break out...
4 ~ The Cowboys are far too talented to stay down...
5 ~ Ditto, the Chargers...
6 ~ The Panthers are playing hard, playing good D, and are poised to win a game or two...Just not TOO many. :D

I presume nothing...But Oakland's tone is set from above, and the guy in charge is a LUNATIC. That D looks bad, that O looks bad, and the QB situation is UGLY.

As it stands, I see the Raiders and the Panthers eventually battling it out for the Second Seed.

And THAT...would be COOL.

Shouldn't that be #8 and #34?

The Vikings pick projects to around #74 I think (give or take)

Nice work. Keep it up!
