Not unexpected. Ravens are hot and we just lost Moss. I'd actually be really surprised if the majority picked us.

And the Ravens think they are underdogs.......

New England coming off a bye week at home, and the Ravens have to guess what way the Patriots O is gonna go without Moss. I think its crazy that they are picking the Ravens.

They are the better team in every position except Quarterback. It's an easy prediction.

The ravens are playing like the best team in the league right now and the patriots have a bunch of question marks, it really shouldn't be that surprising.

Win or lose, this will be a good measuring stick game, if either team wins this game decisively they will probably secure the top power rankings slot, as they should.

An objective opinion:eek:

Against the spread (Pats -3.5) only Judge switches to Baltimore.

Prisco's prediction: Pats 24, Ravens 20
The Patriots are coming off a bye and must play their first game without Randy Moss. How will the offense adjust without him against a good Ravens defense? I think in this spot they will be fine. Playing a Bill Belichick-coached team with two weeks to prepare is tough. The Ravens won at New England in the playoffs last season and this is payback time.

PFT's Week Six picks | ProFootballTalk.com
Ravens at Patriots

Florio's take: Though we've seen plenty of teams lay eggs after their bye week, the Patriots will be as focused and prepared as ever in their first game after the trade that sent Randy Moss back to Minnesota. And the Patriots will want to give a little something back to the Ravens, who went to Gillette Stadium in the 2009 playoffs and took a lawnmower to the Pats' collective grass ass. Get ready for Aaron Hernandez to emerge as an offensive rookie of the year candidate as a major play in the Pats' new beardless passing game.

Florio's pick: Patriots 28, Ravens 19.

Rosenthal's take: If nothing else, trading Randy Moss gives Patriots coach Bill Belichick good fodder for his "no one believes in you" pregame talks. Against Miami, Belichick pointed out how no in-house Patriots Football Weekly writers picked the Patriots to win. The same may happen this week with the Ravens hoping for a repeat of their playoff beatdown from a year ago. When the Patriots' offense shows how capable it is without Randy Moss, Belichick may ship the disbelieving writers to Minnesota, too.

Rosenthal's pick: Patriots 28, Ravens 27.

Dave Goldberg predicts the Ravens again win 33-14.
The Ravens had never won in Foxborough until they went there last January for a first-round playoff game and won 33-14. Can they again shut down Tom and Randy ... whoops, Tom and Deion?

The Ravens came to New England this past January and manhandled the Patriots, who were trucked by the Baltimore running game and made countless big errors on offense. It's almost impossible for the Pats to play as poorly here as they did that afternoon, but the unfortunate reality for New England is that the talent gap is wider than it was during that playoff contest. Baltimore is more dynamic offensively, while the New England defense might be the worst of the Belichick era. The Patriots offense will still score points, but isn't nearly as frightening with Moss now wearing a Vikings uniform. The Ravens rarely make things easy on themselves, especially on the road, but this is one they really ought to win.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Ravens 21, Patriots 20

What's giving me hope is Wilfork should probably be just a little pissed off after watching himself put on his arse on the first play of the game in the playoffs last year. If he's pissed, everyone else will be pissed :D

Did anyone else see Tom Jackson pick the Pats to beat the Dolphins? I've never once seen him pick the Pats unless we were facing the Bills or a sure-fire bottom-dweller team.

personally i am loving the pats being under dogs again... easy motivation

That is a big statement. I would take our TE's, our WR's over every receiver they have except Boldin. Their O-line is nothing to write home about.

We are younger then them at ILB but I love Mayo and Spikes. Clearly Lewis is great, McClain is solid. I would take Chung over any safety that they will have on the field on Sunday. I would also take McCourtey over any of their CB's. Although I hear Webb has been playing well from the Ravens that have stopped by, but I didn't notice him making any plays in the games that I have watched.

So I think you failed to think that through.

When Lewis is one of their Linebackers it makes them all that much better. McClain as of now is greater than Spikes. Chung may be a flash in a pan similar to Meriweather, right now no one should judge him. McCourty has been beat nearly the same amount of times as Butler but that gets ignored. My thoughts are fine on this subject.

I would also take a proven tight end like Heap over Hernandez or Gronk. Boldin and Hosh are a better option than any of our receivers.

Chung will not be a flash in the pan the kid is solid, especially his mental makeup. I would still take McCourty over their CB's. Heap is solid when healthy but Hern provides a lot more flexibility than Heap does. Housh has done nothing since showing up in Baltimore, so I'm not sure where that comes from. Our WR's as a group are a lot better than their WR's.

The only place they have an advantage is at RB and their front 7. But if that constitutes every position in your mind then so be it.

Hoosh caught the game winning TD against a tough Steeler defense. Heap has been solid for a long time so until Hernandez proves his stability I can't take him. McCourty is also benefiting from having some very bad corners on the side of him which lowers any action towards that direction.

They probably forgot Housh was on the field. :D Sorry couldn't resist. I agree Heap has been solid but Baltimore wanted to trade him during the offseason and were about to draft Gronk to replace him. At the very least Heap has that going against him. I like Heap, just to be clear. But again as a whole I would take our TE's over theirs.

I think this will be a very hard fought, close game.

You had a good argument there until you said that Housh is better than Welker.

Couldn't agree more:)

If the Patriots are a good team they will win this game. It's that simple.
