A few other extenuating circumstances in some of those deals, such as salary cap, coach-player problems, off field issues, etc. Not always as black and white as we would like it to be.

It is pretty interesting to see them all lined up, and yes WOW to that Roy Williams deal!

They get all of that for a guy who can't hold on to the ball and we only get a 3rd rounder for Moss??? And we even had to throw in a 7th rounder just to get that.... Someone explain how this happens....

look like Braylon holding on to the ball this year, a TD in each of the last 3 games...

that was a great trade for the Jets, they give two mid round picks and 2 players who were not needed for a very good wide reciver

3 games after constantly dropping the ball for 5 seasons in cleveland and one in new york? And those are some nice career TD stats he put up: 3, 6, 16, 3, 0, 4, 3... So much better than Moss.

Yeah he's a future hall of famer for sure.

The fact that we didn't get Boldin for that price just floors me. Then, the Ravens sign TJ Houshmanzadeh for 3 cheeseburgers and a big gulp.

That's the difference between baseball and football; budgets and salary caps.

It has nothing to do with what draft picks Marshall was traded for; it has everything to do with what it would take to sign Marshall to a new contract. Plenty of teams wanted Marshall; nobody except for Miami was willing to pay him what he and his agent were asking for.

Here are Marshall's contract details:

2010: Signed a five-year, $47.3 million contract. The deal contains $12.5 million guaranteed, including a $5.5 million signing bonus and $6 million of Marshall's 2012 salary barring a league suspension in the first three years.
2010: $4 million
2011: $6.5 million (+ $3 million roster bonus due 4/2)
2012: $9 million
2013: $9.1 million
2014: $9.1 million

who said he was better then Moss?

its possbile to be a good reciver in the NFL without being better then Moss...
