I keep thinking this over and over again....it's clear as day. Why not kill 2 birds with one stone? Mankins is not happy and we need a bona fide deep threat.

Discuss.....

Mankins has to sign his tender, which he is loathe to do because he doesn't have an acceptable deal in place. This is great fan conjecture, but an intellectual exercise doesn't move the chains on Sundays.

The Pats will modestly augment the roster before the trade deadline, but they won't make big moves until the draft, IMO.

VJ is one infraction away from a year long suspension, and a head case. I'll pass.

Apparently some of you are incapable of learing a lesson... Hell will freeze over first.

I'm liking the idea... Just for a different WR

Because it will never happen. They have a talented group of young guys on offense that will develop just fine over time. They did not trade a deep threat to replace him with another Primidonna who wants the ball. I really feel BB wants to get back to what won 3 SB's. I just don't see a big name reciever coming here.

Why do so many people here want Vincent Jackson? Especially after what we've gone threw the last few days with Moss.

VJ would cost more than Moss, has less talent than Moss and far more serious off-field issues than Moss.

Hes One DUI away from being sent to the Big House too

Please change the title to one indicating that this is only an idea. You had me all excited for a second there, until I realized that while I think it would be a great trade, a lot of factors make this highly unlikely.

The only reason I clicked on this stupid threat was because erroneously I thought it was a shocking statement of fact. Silly me. Thread FAIL.

It's not going to happen bro. We just have to come to grips with this we may sign or trade for a journeyman WR or deion branch. But that will be all IMOH, It is easier to develop offensive skill postions such as wr and rb as opposed to DE and CB it seems.

The chargers have also stated that they are not interested in trading V-jax into the AFC unless they get something astronomical in return.

First, Mankins might play for his tender with another team because he seems to hung up with the personal stuff, not the business stuff right. Reports have the Pats giving him what he wants and Mankins rejecting it over principle of having to publically apologizing the Krafts.

Second, most likely any deal like this would be contingent on both Mankins and Jackson working out long term deals before the trade is made.

I don't see this trade ever going through, but Mankins signing his tender would not be what makes this deal a fantasy.

Any trade of Mankins will be to a team ready to lock him up long term. San Diego looks like the last team that's gonna do that.

I don't understand why people don't get this concept, I've said it 4 times already in different threads. You give Jackson a contract that states if he commits one more infraction, his contract is null and void. How hard is that to do or understand. It's not Rocket Science. It's a no-brainer. I'd do this trade in a heartbeat, but would the Chargers take it.

some fans are not rational in their thinking.

Absolutely the main reason he is not coming here.

he will want a signing bonus and that is not refundable.

Because he wouldn't sign it. It's not Rocket Science, really.

Because he is an arrogant prima-donna head case. A talented turd is still a turd. Also, quite sure a clause like that would not be approved by the league.

We got the concept but its fanboy fantasy. Repeating it does not make it so.

1. VJ wouldn't sign it

2. NFLPA & League would not approve a Draconian clause no matter how well deserved

3. The guy is a prima donna, the 2010 BB is DONE with such e.g. AD, Burgess, Moss

4. Money aside, we'd still be out the HIGH draft picks we traded for a guy not on the roster if he screws up which is more likely than not

A bad idea fortunately not entertained by BB who uses critical thinking skills

The man has Two DUI's one more and hes going to jail. I for one don't want to spend a high draft pick on someone that could end up in jail. It goes beyond pre madona behavior, its to much of a gamble
