fla doesn't deserve a baseball team. and they don't deserve the rays one of the best teams in baseball. with a chance to clinch a playoff spot only ten thousand show up. what a joke. and please spare me the excuses like its the stadium or give the fan base time to grow. blah blah blah. you suck. own it.

Rays and Marlins fans are both pretty sad. Florida churns out a lot of baseball talent, but it just isn't a baseball state. The sport will never be successful down here unless one of the teams ends up in the World Series, and even then I don't doubt that they'd have trouble selling that out. Florida is a football and basketball state.

Maybe in High School and College....I would say they have a bigger turnout for a UF or FSU game than a Jaguars game....They are another sad team on the decline in the state.....

Actually, Jaguars sales have spiked in the last season. My friends just went to the Jags/Eagles game this past Sunday and the stadium was packed... in spite of the fact that the Jags were getting their teeth kicked in. They said, though, that the biggest change from last season is that more college kids have purchased tickets than any other year which resulted in a high intoxication rate and a lot of Eagles fans getting the sh!t beaten out of them.

UF, FSU, Miami, and even USF are fanatical fanbases. Ticket sales will always be through the roof because Floridians are absolutely crazy about college football. Saturday afternoons are almost like holidays. And the Dolphins and Bucs usually sell out.

They must have spiked this season because my wife has extended family in Jacksonville that have season tickets and they have said that attendance had been terrible...I haven't talked to them this season though so that's good for them that attendance has gone up....It might go up even more if they get rid of Garrard...lol

Florida may indeed have the most pathetic fan bases in all of baseball, but a fan grasping at straws trying to rationalize why the team that just eliminated the team he supports is inferior - well, that is equally pathetic.

what a joke. they should move the team now. thats a damn good team to. to bad nobody in the tampa area gives a crap.

Guy on the radio today says the NE Revolution sell more tickets per game than the Rays.

Seriously ... why is this team not in another of Florida's cities.

Unless they do a quarter beer night for every game, I'm not sure they would be successful anywhere in Florida.

 .... I remember back in the 80's someone telling me how people in Florida would drive 20 extra miles to get the cheaper breakfast special.

LMAO. I'm sure that's not far off. I would imagine a lot of conversation about peoples' doctors in that restaurant.
