Dolphins CB Davis Ready For Moss
By: Ian Logue

FoxSportsFlorida.com has an article this morning on Dolphins cornerback Vontae Davis, who says he's ready for Sunday's battle against Randy Moss when the two teams battle on Monday night down in Miami....

Maybe he's gonna call him a slouch! LOL.

I wonder who's ready for Hernandez and Gronkowski.

And Tate.

And Welker.

And Edleman.

I hope their linebackers and safeties are ready to get GRONKED!

moss had good words for davis last yr or yr before after the game i think

its probably going to rain in miami. combine that with the baseball pitch in the middle...this could be a slopfest

I'd like to see the Pats go to Gronk (or Crumpler) outside the red zone a few times, since Miami will key on Hernandez there. Mix it up.

I hope we have someone ready for Marshal..

If the field is a slopfest, it sure makes it tougher on our already crappy D....

Power running might be the key.

Sure as heck aren't going to be many effective cuts made on that field.

Davis is a real good young corner. Every time I've watched him I've been impressed. It'll be interesting to watch this match-up Monday night.

Moss is a shadow of his former self...I don't think DAvis will have a problem...he'll probably get a pick or two given how Brady always forces it into triple coverage with Moss.

Sarcasm????

They sodded over the pitch for the Jets game on SNF....won't they do the same for the Pats on MNF?

Ready?
Boy, Randy will tear you apart.

Greeting from a Dolphins fan. Vontae Davis has been treated like a shutdown corner thus far in 2010 (QB's throw away from him) but I'm not sure it's because he is really great or Jason Allen has a target on his back. Nonetheless Davis was beaten deep twice by Moss last year but he also took 2 away from him (2 picks vs Brady to Moss as a rookie is a good resume). He's definetly an up and coming corner he also tackles extremely well. I think most Dolphins fans are pretty excited about Vontae Davis. However, I doubt this matchup will last all night as unlike the Jets Miami rarely flips corners which means Moss can just line up over Jason Allen and take the better matchup (not that I think Brady and Moss are intimidated by anyone but why not take the easier matchup). After seeing what I saw Monday night I know the Patriots present a plethera of matchups that Dolphins fans are not too excited about. You got Moss vs Allen, Welker vs Sapp, Gronk and Hernandez vs any of Miami LB's not named Dansby or safeties not named Clemons to name a few, Tate vs Davis is the one I'm most confident about. It's gonna be tough for Miami to stop the Pats. I think NE will struggle to stop Miami as well. They certainly have no one on one answer for Marshall hopefully doubling him will open up the other guys and the run game. Butler on Bess was a disaster for you guys last game.

Good luck guys, should be a good game.

BB has not offered Moss an extension.
Despite an excellent pre-season, Moss has 9 catches in 3 games, and Cromartie had no trouble with Moss.

I'd love to see Moss break out Mon night, but if he goes for another pedestrian 3 catches and 50 yards it will hardly be a surprise.

See, this to me is the problem with evaluating someone like Moss -- looking strictly at stats. His numbers obviously weren't stellar vs Buffalo, but he had some pretty good contributions all around. Watch the Gronk TD and see how Moss takes two defenders to the back of the end zone, clearing the way for the TE.

Welker and now Hernandez certainly benefit from Moss having to be accounted for. I'm fine with Moss's stats being pedestrian as long as he's playing a complete game and helping others get into the offense. Let that happen enough and the D's feel like they need to cover everyone, and Moss becomes open more. It's the forcing the ball to Moss (see Jets game) at the expense of a more complete attack that hurts the team.

Anyway - -love Davis as a player. I seem to remember after last year's second game, when he had I think 2 picks, he talked about studying Moss and seeing that he tended to tip off some patterns. Smart.

No, not really. Moss doesn't get open that much deep and Brady throws it anyway lofting it up, putting tons of air under the ball...result...interception.

The fact that Randy gets open at all proves his greatness. Also, the pinpoint pass between four defenders shows how confident Brady still is in Moss.
