Looks like Greg Bedard, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is coming east. Seems to have NE roots?

Welcome home. RT @Greg_A_Bedard: It's w/mixed emotions that I tell you I'm leaving JS 10/25 for The Boston Globe. This isn't easy for me - JSOnline

Twitter / New England Patriots: Welcome home. RT @Greg_A_B ...

The Boston Globe is the paper I grew up reading. It’s why I wanted to be a sports writer. And it’s home.

well breer was becoming too much for his own sake so best of luck to him. seemed like he was covering the jets and fins more than the pats and in the process got the east coast reporter/analyst job at NFLN. here is his last tweet..as always find the bright spot in the fins
Yup...but doesn't change my overall point, of course. For all talk how young Pats are, Fins are younger by significant margin

I loved Breer 1.0. Breer 2.0, I can do without. Hopefully the new guy breathes some new life like Rapoport has at the Herald.

We all have to hope that he is not a yet-another-douche (YAD) like Felger Borges etc.

Please for a change I would like have some homers in the media.

Ween him off cheese and get him hooked on seafood and maple syrup again, things should work out okay from there.

well..he is going to hang around with gasper who will fill him in how BB sucks and is too old to coach and how the patriots are hard with the media etc etc

I'd just love someone who's fair and down the middle, like Reiss, but I'm not expecting that. Irregardless of the media outlet, the mortal sin among mediots in New England is the slightest suggestion that one is a homer (translation: fair and down the middle).

here is his first tweet response to the pats official twitter acct

Thanks. Now about that media policy... ;) RT @realpatriots: Welcome home.

thats the mentality he comes with :)
i have even see rapsheet mention that its a little harder to get info here...i bet he too will be acclimated soon..:)

seafood and maple syrup

Hmmm, I've been away from Boston a long time -- far away -- but I don't recall that particular concoction. Do you ferment it first?

Fermentation is always popular.

you've never had maple fish kabobs ? very popular down old orchard beach way. can't get there from here.

Good luck to both men in their new jobs.

Also, maple chicken wings are delicious.

Ditto.
Years ago, when I first started to read sports writers, I asked an older, more experienced Boston sports fan, "do all sports writers hate the teams they report on or just the Boston sports writers?"

I would rather someone who is a New Englander, loves the Pats, wants them to win, but is honest in his analysis & opinions, and is not afraid to call a spade a spade.

I don't want a worshipper or a shill, but I also don't want an outsider who doesn't want the Pats to win and bases his writing from that mindset.

breer was initially like that .after he joined the globe he was more about the fins/jets and cowboys. maybe he was projecting himself such that he could get a national job..

Yeah, he was...then perhaps in his quest to go national, he started writng useless puff-piece drivel worshipping Goodell's favorite team & the team run by the guys he used to cover while in Dallas.

It got so bad, that I've done the unthinkable - bookmarked FESPN, Mike Reiss' Pats blog in particular. I refuse to click the Herald until Bogus & that disgusting gweep Ton-ass are fired.
