I agree. It's h3ll having to learn on the fly, as it were, but if they can settle in and learn to use patience, they'll be just fine.

Ugh. That touchdown that everybody has been hanging on McCourty looks like a complete garbage play from Chung. He's the deep safety, there's one man deep, right in his zone, everyone else is on 5-yard patterns, and he still brings the help late. Watching the TV replay, I figured there must be a TE running a skinny post between the two deep zones that held him, but he was so busy watching the QB that he didn't even see the one player right in front of him for whom he could possibly be responsible.

It's alright Pat Chung, I still love you even if you give up a few TDs.

Spikes is showing what BB talked about in training camp -- he relies on his instincts. Trouble is, the pro game is so much faster that he just ends up taking himself out of position.

Sure Spikes shot the gap and got burned, but the real issue on that play was binky OLB Jermaine Cunningham getting sealed by FB Corey McIntyre and losing contain, IMHO.

Young players like to only play what they see, not follow the script and stay within their area of responsibility. This is why you see so many plays on defense break down.
