the Dolphins to win this Monday night. That includes 4 Kraft media employees, and even Flip LeChance.

Well, I hate to say it, but it's a division game against an opponent the Pats traditionally split, and it's on the road. There's a lot to like about the Pats this year, but this game doesn't bode well.

Shock the world baby.

are u kidding? thats great news

it always turns out better when we are chosen to lose, sure doesnt dampen my expectations of the game at all

week 2 most ppl chose us to win....

My thoughts exactly. I'm fine with the underdog role. In fact, I think that's exactly where we need to be if we want to do some real damage this season.

recent history says we will collapse in the 2nd half and lose.

A division road game on Monday night? I think this is the game where our team starts to come in to it's own and starts to settle down becoming more consistant.
We'll be behind at half, come back in the third, lose the lead again, defense makes a huge stop in the 4th and Brady leads us down the field for the final score and the win.
Or, we lose the game in the 2nd half and nothing changes.
I think how we play this game, specifically the 2nd half, will have a huge impact on the rest of our season.
We could lose, but play great in the 2nd half, and I think that would still have a positive impact on our team.

Well, I think the Patriots can lose this game and still take the division. It's still early.

We need to win a road game to boost the players morale because of the second half fiasco. Plus a division win is always a must. It won't be a breeze but i like our odds.

The teams look pretty close in terms of talent and the Pats have a bad record in Miami. I can't really blame them.

Somebody should call BB and tell him not to even show up to the game since all these experts are picking the Dolphins to win.

Yes, and all the more happy I will be when the Patriots win.

But, but, PFW is the only newpaper in Homerville. And you would think a couple of those Kraft media people would play the homer card instead of being so objective and picking what they think.

I remember hearing Brady remark (and I am completely paraphrasing the gist here) that for this team to be a "top-tier team" they must start winning games on the road.

I hope he instilled a competitive urgency into this team over this week of practice. I would rather enjoy a dominating Patriots performance on offense, and at the very minimum, the defense giving a strong four quarters without any huge meltdowns.

Set the tone! :rocker:

I know odds are set up based on where the oddsmakers think the public will bet as opposed to what they think will happen, but they're still fun to look at. Most are listing the Pats as one point favorites, with the over/under at 46 or 46.5; I say the over looks enticing.

I'm astounded that the Pats are 1 point favorites. The game opened as a pick'em and having the line move to the Pats giving 1 is even more surprising. It seems people in Vegas either know, or think they know, something few others know. Really interesting. Lots of money seemingly being wagered on NE.

The bettors think that the Pats CAN'T be this bad......

Smart money will give the point and take Miami at home....

(hope I'm wrong about the outcome and Pats put a complete game together on their way to building another solid contender.)

I am picking the Dolphins also. Hope I am wrong of course :)

Am I mistaken, or didn't I hear Fab Five Freddy Kirsh go his usual delusional route with sticking with The Pats come Hell or high water?

I'll tell ya, those 1/2 hour convoluted stances Fred takes where Portly Paul Perillo spends half their lunch hour trying to convince him otherwise is some spazzed out webradio. Yeah, but Paul never sways Fred because, well, in the middle of the arguments, if you listen really closely, you'll notice Fred will change his stance and start arguing from both sides. It's the whackest thing you'll ever hear. I've never come across anybody like that.

And then there's juvenile Andy feigning ignorance whenever he says anything inappropriate. Plus, then there's Erik, the just miserable, Erik Scalavino. He's like Eyore from Whinny The Poo. He comes lumbering in late 'cause they deem him low man on the totem pole and send him off to do the legwork around Gillette's grounds.

Today, the over-under was more about whether Erik is gonna get laid anytime soon rather than on The Miami game. Erik called off the discussion because he says he's given up. (I think. Well, that was the vibe anyway.)

Btw, that show would blow without Scalavino. You see, if he's not there, then you have 3 jock writers talking shop for 2 hours. Whenever Erik lumbers in late, you can actually hear the other three pep up a little. Erik is the guy who actually has interests outside the sports world. He's the straw that stirs the otherwise stagnant drink.

So, kudos to Scalavino.

(yeah, and a hearty razzing raspberry for cantankerous Andy Hart. Just kidding. Well, not al the way kidding. so nyah... Andy Panda.)

Apparently home field is worth 3 points, so if this game were being held at the Razor, the Pats would be favored by a TD.

Pats by a TD at home over the Phins looks reasonable to me.
