A recent look at Miami's defense performance against Tight Ends looks pretty poor the past 2 weeks

Vikings TE Vinsanthe Shiancoe 6 catches for 86 Yards - Week 2
Jets TE Dustin Keller 6 catches for 98 Yards and 2 TDs - Week 3

Thats a very poor near 15+ YPC Allowed by their defense to the opposing TEs

I think this could play into our hands on Monday Night,Personally I think Hernandez is better than those 2 above and those 2 had big games,Hernandez who is more of a WR than TE could have a monster game.

I would think Belichick will take advantage of this apparent weakness and see lots of Brady to Hernandez monday night.

Fixed it for ya.

Great observation.

i think pass protection could be an issue .esp with no faulk to help out and taylor injured , our o line has to step up. brady handled the jets blitz pretty well and bills dont have any dlinemen so this could be a real test for our o line when being pressured by the front 4.
same holds on defense- with only wilfork being the most reliable player on the Dline vs their ib o line, it will be a huge challenge to stop the run.

I expect Gronk to have a big night as well. We should also attack whatever side Jason Allen is on.

Hernandez is a beast! Has anyone ever seen a TE that tries to juke DB's and LB's out of their shoes after catching the ball? He's obviously the Pats best receiving TE since Ben Coates.

Still can't believe this guy dropped so far in the draft for smoking a joint.

As far as it goes to the Tight Ends I would assume the elder Crumpler will be in the mix as well

I think BB will be using Crumpler in the FB position as he did in the Jets game

Great observation.
They mentioned it on the game on Sunday night.

It's early for stats to mean anything but Football Outsiders has Miami's defense ranked as :

11th vs. #1 WR
5th vs. #2 WR
13th vs. other WR
27th vs. TE

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | 2010 DEFENSIVE EFFICIENCY RATINGS

(don't look at where the Patriots are ranked ;))

Also, Hernandez and Gronk are ranked 4th and 7th so far.

I swear if Brady zeroes in on a double covered Moss and Welker and misses wide open TEs all game long I am going to throw a rock into my 55" TV

I like Hernandez to have a big game against the Dolphins. This will be his coming out party of sorts, and the media will probably start to zero in on this guy. I know most coaches don't use the media as a guide for game planning, but the attention this kid is going to get will mean that opposing D coordinators will start drafting up plans to stop him. Of course, that will open up other possibilities.

Still can't believe this guy dropped so far in the draft for smoking a joint.

If they knew anything about Bristol, CT (his hometown), they wouldn't have thought anything of it. ;)

Anyone remember the Bills game when they ran like 10 times in a row and BJGE was slashing through their defense? I hope they do that but earlier. Miami has a bunch of injuries and lacks some (serious) depth on the defensive line, plus whoever that LB next to Dansby is sucks. Attack them with the TE's, running game, and slot receivers.

Like I said I expect the Pats TEs to continue giving Miami's D problems but I also expect Fasano to be a big pain in the ass to our crappy defense.

It could be a big time for TEs on both sides and one or the other could make the difference late in the game.

I agree with this. I think our LBs can't cover their tightends either.

As for offense, attack the space where Dansby is not standing at. lol.

Why?

Anthony Fasano isn't much of a receiving threat and their other TEs change weekly. TE is probably the weakest unit on their offense. How about this game, name Miami's other TEs without looking them up.

Not jus for this game, Hernandez is a TE option anyone should be paying attention to for a spare TE. I imagine he'll only be more involved as the season goes on, he could very well match up with Watson's career year in his first.

Jarrad Page to see some time on MNF?

Now you have said this, Miami are going to see it, and fix it ;)

Good point. The Fins have generated surprising pass rush, and the TEs will have to pick up Faulk's slack in pass protection.

Gronk might, but I hope they let him run routes with Hernandez more than they have in recent weeks. This is pretty much one of the only areas where I can really complain about O'Brien. You have this athletic beast at TE that is a match-up nightmare for every safety, CB, and linebacker his goes against. Use him more than just in the blocking scheme.
