OT: Ravens cut Trevor Pryce

He's rumored to be re-signing with the Ravens, FYI.

I liked what he did in Baltimore getting push and making plays in the backfield...He would be a solid Vet to bring in and possibly make some plays...I think he would be a very nice addition for 1 year....

Re: Trevor Pryce

As a mentor to Cunningham, if nothing else. Sign em!

Re: Trevor Pryce

Why was he cut?

And the leading sack man for the Ravens last year only had 6.5 sacks? Wow, I thought it would be more.

After seeing this on twitter, I did wonder if I would see a thread like this ;)

1.) He's 35 years old, does he have anything left?

2.) He doesn't appear to have done anything through 3 games this season.

Didn't it take Derrick Burgess 1.5 years to never learn our defense?

Well he did have 6.5 sacks last year, and he hasn't played much this year. Maybe he might be done but if they can sign him for cheap then why not, at the very least he's a veteran presence on the D-line.

You guys seem desperate

A 35 year old player to sign in the middle of a season?

Would take him midseason at the earliest to learn this system...I say stick with what we got (Brace,Pryor ect),these young players need to learn how to adjust to the NFL and this defense, continuing to let them ride the pine for an aged vet who is not all that great anymore won't help us going into the future

We just need to take our lumps at this time and expect them to develop into quality starters a game at a time.

why do they need a vetern presence on the d-line......aren't Warren and Wilfork vetern enough?

Nope. Let the young guys develop.

I'll pass on him too. Our guys will do just fine. Bringing in some other veteran not only will make things more difficult as he tries to learn the system, but he would likely take playing time away from our own youngsters, and thus ****** their own learning and development.

no just .8 the other .2 was the FO realizing he doesn't fit in it

If the price is right, I don't see why not. He's old as hell, yes. However, he has experience playing in a 3-4 (though not a two-gapping system like our's), can get into the backfield, and can provide an all-important other body at DE to compete with Gerard Warren and Mike Wright.

With how often they rotate players in, it can't hurt. I doubt having him around will do anything to '******' the growth of the younger players.
