I see no good reason to expect the Pats to do any better than 8 and 8 this season. Their glaring weaknesses in the secondary and lack of a pass rush will make them vulnerable to any offensive coordinator who's worth his salt. Brady's guys will not be able to score 30+ points every week and their schedule will do them in.

I the schedule looks challenging, but try to stay positive. :)

Why don't you look at the schedule try to pick one or two games that, if the Pats were to win, would make you feel better about the team.

For example, if they win this Monday in Miami, would that make you feel better about their prospects for the season?

How about if they beat the Ravens after the bye?

Awesome thread!

The defense is brutally young. Come December, they won't be nearly that bad.

Nelsoki

I have faith that the young talent on this team will get better as the season progresses.

awesome thread! :rocker:

There is no chance that we don't go 2-14 for the rest of the season.

We should bench the starting offense.

Am I doing this right?

Who on the schedule has looked completely dominant? The Steelers are the closest thing because of the way their defense has played.

Minnesota is not a good football team.

SD's defense is not that good and their offense isn't putting up points to bail them out. And their ST's has sucked.

Indy's is a mirror of us.

Chicago played garbage team's the first two weeks and if not for 17 penalties Cutler throws 3-4 picks, GB scores 14 more points and no one would be talking about the Bears being any good today.

Baltimore is having a tough time putting up points and their secondary has yet to be challenged by a competent QB. And the vaunted front seven just let Peyton Hillis run for 144 yards. And it took everything they had to put the Browns down.

GB is going to be the biggest challenge, but not if they play as sloppy as they did last night.

But the biggest advantage is that the majority of our toughest games (outside of our division) are at home. We go to SD and Chicago (if you want to count them, I think they will come crashing back down to earth).

Don't get me wrong I am not saying we will win these games or that they will be easy etc... All I'm saying is every team on our schedule has their own issues. The stretch coming out of the bye will be very telling as to how this season will go. Baltimore, SD and Minny will no doubt be a tough stretch, but not nearly as tough as people thought it would 3 weeks ago.

I think that 10-6 is our ceiling, we have the worst schedule in the league...

i thought the 2001 team would be 8 - 8 at best ... ;););)

If you look at the schedule and teams that SHOULD beat us by way of better defense and an offense that might keep up with this team than you are looking at a 7-9 season....hopefully we beat a relevant team this year

Well That's That... I better start liking NASCAR the season is over.

8-8?

NO.

9-7??

HELL, no.

7 of 9, baby. :D

***

As my good friend says:

RELAX.

7 of 9 positions ~ that's 9 of 11 in EarthSpeak ~ have new starters or young guys with significantly different repsonsibilities.

But they are DEEPLY TALENTED...and MAGNIFICENTLY led.

GIVE them 2 or 3 months to Take It Through the Gears.

Give them time to...ASSIMILATE. :D

WE ARE THE BORG

well we are doomed what should i do with the rest of my football season

So if they have a good game monday in Miami and win 35-10 are we gonna have 10 threads stating 12-4, 13-3 ?? Some of you guys look to far ahead, enjoy this weeks game before you jump off the bridge :bricks:

wow you are totally discounting good football teams that know how to win.

to the OP, I wish it was true but BB is programmed to get 10 wins minimum.
