Pats cut Maneri...could this mean Mankins returns?

Nope. More likely he just gets signed to the PS.

Didn't realize he was even on the team. Probably why he was cut. No, not that I didn't realize he was on the team, but because he was so low on the roster that he is insignificant. I doubt it has anything to do with Mankins.

Bill just realized he was still on the roster.

Adam Seward? Bet he can rush the passer and cover.

Re: NFP: Patriots cut Maneri

So we added some incentive to change Schobels mind?

My guess is that the slot will be taken up by someone who BB feels can help prevent kickoffs from returning into his endzone. Like Pierre Woods.

Our oline has allowed like 2 sacks in 3 games, and we just ran for 200 yards. Save the money.

According to Mike Reiss he was picked up off Waivers by the Texans. So no practice squad for maneri...

Who's Mankins?

Connelly has made us all pretty much forget about Mankins, I'm sure Logan wishes he could have a "do-ovah"

That's what happens when you think you're worth more than you are.

He would have to clear waivers, but once he does, he would be eligible for the PS for any team! Chances are Houston claims him!

I think Reiss was saying that Maneri had been picked up on waivers from the Texans...

My speculation

Most likely use of the spot: Pats see Fred Taylor as down for a week or two and an increased role for Green-Ellis on offense means a decrease in his role on special teams. That combined with the special teams giving up a TD against the Bills, leads the Patriots to add a player to play special teams with this spot.

Darkhorse scenario use of the spot: Patriots feel they can't count on Butler right now and know how important the Monday game against the Dolphins is. Patriots sign a veteran CB like 37 year old Ty Law (or longer shot Shawn Springs) in an attempt to add some stability to the cornerback corps.

Law isn't on another team right now? How is he feeding his family?
