He is widely considered one of the best qb in the league and would be a hall of famer if he retired today. Who is dismissing his career?

Look at every forum except the Patriots. Also, the pundits right now do not believe the Patriots can win without their vintage defense. They treat Brady like a better version of Trent Dilfer.

Brady is one of the top 5 quarterbacks of all time. Dismissing his career and saying he is done is both ridiculous and petty. Fans of other teams just hope that if they say things like that enough times it'll come true.

Stupid thread. It's called team sports for a reason.

Tell that to those MVP voters. Stupid post.........
I must have missed the other 10 guys on the field with the offense at any given time and the 11 guys of the defense.

Troll is obvious.

Troll? This isn't the Lord of The Rings..... There is no need to go off topic.

I'm pretty sure that with the exception of Colts fans, Brady is considered a top 5 QB, at worst.

Chill out dude? The guy is just making a thread with his opinion/point of view. And it is lame and pathetic to call people trolls.

I don't really see a lot of other team's fans dismissing Brady. Even majority of Jets fans admit that Brady is a HOF QB. They still thing he's gay, but they respect what kind of QB he is. Of course, there are always some fans who will never give Brady respect, just like there are some fans that will never give Manning respect.

Thank you Monkey Man.

Disagree.

The guy is either a troll or doesn't know what he is talking about.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt by suggesting he is a troll, as Brady has already earned his place among the top three to five QB's of all time in the minds of any knowledgeable observers. Suggesting that he is a troll actually gives him credit for being an opponent who is smart enough to understand that and who realizes that his only alternative is to try to tear Brady down.

Otherwise, the guy doesn't know what he is talking about and the thread is absurd.

Why would anyone dismiss his career?? Because he had a good defense when he won his rings??? He went 16-0 and nearly won the superbowl again in 2007 with an average defense. I'm pretty sure no QB in history has ever won a superbowl without a good team behind him. Ask Dan Marino. So dismissing his career based on having a good defense is an idiotic thing to do.

Brady plays one position...this defense is NOT capable of winning a championship and you need a capable one to do it.

Other than the famous homers we all know and love in here, any sensible individual can see this team is a borderline playoff team at best.

A 6th seed and a one and done is more than you can ask for with a team with too many youngsters roaming the defense.

Give the rebuilding defense 1 or 2 years then we will see....until then just enjoy watching the teams young players mature and hopefully get better because some of them have nothing to lose but to improve....it can't happen overnight and it won't....this is the NFL,not Madden.

When Bruschi,Harrison,McGinest and Vrabel walked out the door so did a respectable defense.....and they ain't coming back in so rebuilding takes time and patience...if you are a true pats fan you will be there during this period of change.

If forum posters selected people for Canton, Sanchez, Eli Manning and Braylon Edwards would already be there. The point is that these people are by and large either biased or ignorant or, in the case of Jets posters, generally drunk. Their opinion is worthless. They are haters. I don't give a flying **** what they think and, if you are truly a Patriots supporter, neither would you.

You don't know me:cool:

Your alternative is tearing a thread poster down which is worse in my opinion.

Agreed that this has nothing to do with Brady, who has nothing left to prove: five trips to a Conference Championship game, four trips to the SB and three rings; his ticket to Canton was punched in 2004, punched again in 2005 and punched all over in 2007. Now, with every game he plays, he just improves his argument for being considered in a discussion of "who is the greatest QB of all time." What a bunch of forum posters think has nothing to do with that.

The Pats are clearly a work in progress on the D side this year (as is the running game, BTW). I'm sticking by my 10--6 projection and think the pieces are there for them to be playing much better in December and, hopefully, January. Pray that there is no strike/lockout as I have said for the last two years that this is all designed to come together in 2011 and 2012.

As you say, I don't know you, so I am not, nor could I be, tearing "you" down;

What I am tearing down is the view that a bunch of opposing team forum posters has anything meaningful to say about the legacy of Tom Brady and that he needs anything in his future performance to "defend" himself to them. Anyone who knows anything about the NFL or football knows that he is one of the greatest QB's ever to play the game. Suggesting that he needs another ring to validate himself, under specific circumstances, is simply not credible for a knowledgeable fan. Sorry. If you take that as "tearing you down," I can't control how you feel. The people who hate Brady wouldn't like him if he had a 100% completion rate and won the next three Super Bowls; they would still have something negative to say about him.

The record of my 6,000 or so posts out here is that I am one of the most fair-minded Pats supporters on this board, frequently agreeing with and even defending sincere opposition posters who come right out and say what they think. So, if you're a Jets fan or a Colts fan, just come right out and say it and we can have a good discussion. Just ask Pherein or Rex Ryan's Gut or Gunnails or any of a number of intelligent opposing fans.
