My opinion after the first three weeks

Well, I just got back from a trip to visit my parents so I need to make up fpor my lack of posts during the past week.

Tom Brady - Our offense is capable of being just as good as the 2007 team, as long as Brady spreads the ball, limits his deep passes, and the offense stops getting penalties at critical times.

Randy Moss - I think all of the people who talk about trading Moss need to take a careful look at the past three games. So far in every game this season he has once again proven how valuable he is to our offense. Pay him!

Wes Welker - Welker is obviously playing really well again even though his catches have been limited so far this season.

Hernandez and Gronk - If what they have done during their first few games is any indication of what is coming, you are looking at two Future Hall of Fame players. You heard it from me first.

Brandon Tate - Not bad so far. He's fast but he needs to do a better job of holding on to the ball.

Alge Crumpler - He hasn't gained a lot of yards but he has done a great job with blocking.

Julian Edelman - Am I the only person who thinks Edelman has taken a step back? He doesn't seem to really do much with the catches he is given.

BJGE - He had a good game today and does pretty well at times but he is still inconsistent.

Woodhead - I like this guy so far. I think we should give him more opportunities to see what he can do.

Sammy Morris - I personally think he is better than BJGE so I'm not sure why he doesn't get many carries.

Defensive Line - Great at limiting the run. These guys are the strength of our defense for sure.

Patrick Chung and Brandon Meriweather - Our young safeties are both prone to making some mistakes but they also make a lot of big plays.

Mccourty, Arrington, Butler, Wilhite - I think McCourty will be ok as the season goes on but the others are a big question mark. Our corners are giving up way too many big plays.

Yes, our #1 WEAKNESS is indeed our corners. However, if we had better linebacker play, the front seven could help limit the consequences of the weakness at corner.

He has too many runs for losses. He did well today because we were playing against the Bills... He is not someone we want to use a lot in a game against teams like the Steelers, Vikings, Dolphins, etc... He will fail big time. BJGE would be a backup on most teams with better running backs.

I think we need to give Woodhead a shot.

All of the aforementioned teams would destroy Woodhead if he was a no.1 back I am happy to keep him doing what he's doing so he can stay explosive.

What runs for losses? Where are the numbers to back up your assertion?

FYI, when a RB is tackled for a loss, that is almost always a breakdown on the OL part.

Woodhead is not a legitimate rushing threat. He is the perfect 3rd down option to replace Faulk, as he did today. He even carried out that patented 3rd down draw play.

Woodhead is a tiny 3rd down back who played great today and was a fine acquisition.

Green-Ellis is a 1st and 2nd down back, who will backup and alternate with Taylor, now that he beat out Maroney. And BTW, it will be interesting to see how he performs as he continues to get more carries. Many backs do better as they get more and more carries. Others just tire and need us to bring in another back to get a breather.

Marris is an all-purpose back who can play anywhere as needed.

I understand that we played the Buffalo Bills, but the patriots pounding out over 200 running yard is truly awesome.

His skills are diminishing (as you would expect of a 34 yr old WR), and I think the Pats are going to get as much from him as they can this year and let him walk. I think this is a good plan as I think his skills will continue to diminish. We do need to bring in another #1 WR, but I don't think it'll be Moss. I hope not.

MJD is listed at 2 inches shorted and 10lbs heavier he is a much bigger back by ratio Woodhead Is comparable to Sporles or Faulk in size both are 3rd down back primarily. both undersized guys who make people miss MJD runs through people they guy has tree trunks for thighs.

Lay off the drugs. Moss is not only our best receiver but one of (if not THE) the best in the NFL. His skills aren't diminishing at all, the play-calling is part of the problem and our defense as a whole isn't playing as well as it could.

We get stops when we need to. We held the JETS running game (which was the best in the NFL last year) to 128 yards and zero TDs last week. And we held Buffalo's RBs to 108 yards which is only 5 more yards than they had against Green Bay last week. Next week we'll have a real test for our run defense. I'm betting we hold the Dolphins to under 130 combined rushing yards.

Didn't look that way to me when he beat the best CB in the league last week or when he got those two TDs this week. :lol2:

This reminds me of the last two years when I was trying to tell everyone that Lawrence "Mr Fumble" Maroney was a bad RB and everyone was defending him. In the end my opinion was justified when Bill traded him. Now I'm trying to once again tell people that our current RB isn't great either and everyone is defending him the same way they defended Maroney. Gee, I wonder how this will eventually turn out.

Its sad to say our weakness is our corners when all we spent in the last 3 drafts is A 2 A 3 ANOTHER 2 , and a 1 on our corner backs.. but that is our weakness, and that Belichick cant draft well on lb.
