NFL Gameday morning crew discussing right now and everyone saying young defense etc etc and marshall faulk as always said its on brady to carry the team.when he was the man in the SB yrs, the defense carried him and we compare manning and brady all the time and manning has been playing without a defense for a while now and now suddenly brady is without a defense and he cant seem to carry it ? He said that brees carried his team to last yr.
His bitterness for brady was so evident , i dont know why they dont point it out on the show..

That would be telling........

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

Boy all the crew said the Patriots will have growing pains, but here Faulk just continues to show how much of a ARse he is... the hatred for Brady and the Pats is so evident... I for once would like to see BB or Brady pull a Tom jackson on him, he goes to shake thier hand and says FU.... Im just more amazed how Faulk contiunes this hatred...

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

The bizarre thing is the argument.

The Saints played the Colts last year. So apparently Brees went up against a crappy Colts defense (according to the bitter one) and had to have his defense bail him out with a pick 6.

Now, I don't believe that at all, but Faulk needs to go back and look at the last 2 Super Bowls Brady won. TWO. His passing is what won those two Super Bowls, end of story.

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

His argument with brees is just wrong. The saints were a .500 team in 07 and 08 despite his stats, and it wasn't until their defense was getting a ton of turnovers that they were able to get over the hump. Mannings only superbowl was also in a year his defense carried him with the exception of the second half of the game against us.

They're co-workers & colleagues. Plus, they don't want his Pats "Wrath" directed towards them either. They prefer Faulk on their side. Anyway, the worst thing about that panel is Michael Irvin's annunciation. Steve Mariucci must be all squeamish sitting next to that spaz all the time.

I don't think anyone is going to argue that Brady was "carried" to 3 Super Bowls - it was a team effort.
However, I agree with the argument that Brady MUST carry this team. To me, much of how I will remember Tom Brady will be for the remaining 5-7years of his career. He has always had the benefit of leaders like Rodney, Willie, and Teddy. Now, when he looks around the locker room, he must realize that he is the one who is most responsible for the fate of this team. He cannot rely on a kicker to come up huge in the toughest of situations or a defense that gets that crucial turnover to thwart the opposition's final drive to seal a game.

Regardless, Marshall Faulk needs to get over it.

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

Marshall Faulk needs to get over it, the bias towards the Pats is obvious..

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

Didn't the saints D lead the league in turnovers?

Faulk really does hate the Patriots (I don't normally think this about media members). Remember in 07, when in every big game during the season, he picked whoever the Pats were playing? He is bitter

Who IS the Dallas Cowboys!?

Nfl Network sucks. They take the best guy off their primetime highlight show (Eisen) and replace him with Irvin. Esien still does highlights on a different show that based on Eisens twitter feed no one watches.

Then they add joe theismann to their announcing crew on the games they have. Him and Matt Millen. Why not go for the most annoying crew ever and add Steve Young

they replace rich eisen with fran charles for nfl gameday final. eisen still does the highlights right after the 4:15 games but disappears after the sunday night game.

Re: NFLN:patriot Problems

Great thread to wake up to. I thought something significant had happened, and all it is is Marshall Borges still flappin' his enflamed gums a decade after his overhyped Rams came totally unglued in the wake of getting biatch slapped by cinderella, and once again trying to rewrite history to say I told you so...they were never special, just lucky...FOR AN EFFIN' DECADE NOW MARSHALL!!!

He could have never played for Bill because that ego is incapable of acknowledging his and his teams own failings and limitations, which is also why The Greatest Show's brief success was so thoroughly unsustainable the entire organization landed in the crapper where it remains to this day...

They sure spend a lot of time focusing on what's wrong with the Patriots. Last time I checked, there were many other teams in the NFL with problems of their own worth talking about.

It's a kind of bass ackwards tribute to the Patriots. No other team's problems loom quite so large, especially to Faulk. The Patriots got in the way of his trip to immortality, just as the Giants got in the way of Junior's piece of "ever."

Faulk just said, "When you think about what Carson Palmer has did..."
How do these guys keep their jobs?

Colts Defense

#1 (2007)
#2 (2005)
#7 (2002)
#8 (2009)
#10 (2008)

Peyton won 0 championships in those 5 years.

And Peyton's one Super Bowl run was more in spite of him than because of him...

I don't like most of what he says but it's hard to disagree with the main point ...

Brady does have to carry the team this year ... i totally agree with that.
