Go.. Brand new.... All Talk on Hernandez and what he means to this dynamic offense.

Do not go off topic

situations he will open up, mismatches etc.....

Aaron Hernandez - TE Sep. 23 - 9:40 am et

ESPN's Mike Reiss thinks Aaron Hernandez's playing time will increase now that Kevin Faulk (knee) is out for the season.
So far, Hernandez has played 67 of 123 offensive snaps. The rookie tight end is so versatile that he can line up detached from the formation or even in the backfield. Tom Brady is in the market for a third-down security blanket with Faulk down, and Hernandez's arrow is pointing up. He's a TE2 with upside.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

He should have been used more often before the Faulk injury. For the youngest rookie in the league, he's outperformed even MY lofty expectations. We need to use Gronk in a pass catching role more as well.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

I told my father that him being the youngest.... and he couldnt get over it.

Hernandez
Tate
Gronkowski

are all young options for this improving offense...

throw edelman in if you want. Things look really wellin the youth department.:)

I'm going to stay off the Edelman bandwagon until he proves he can stay on the field for a few consecutive games.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

I was thinking. I know there have been some talk of using Herdandez as H-back on 3-rd down or in fact any down. I would love to see him running routes out from back field but what made Faulk such a good 3rd down back or passing situation back was his blitz pick up. My only concern is that Hernadez, while he was used as H-back in college, is still a rookie and rookies in general suck at blitz pick up. Would this result in may be Gronk or Crump used along with Hernadez in back field for extra protection or just to mix it up(say Hernandez staying put to block and Gronk/Crumpler running passing route which won't be what teams will be expecting)? I have high hopes for this kid and if anyone can squeeze every bit of use out of player, I believe it is BB.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

We are being way too optimistic, here, IMO. Aaron still needs to work on his blocking a bit.

He's young, give him a chance. He's doing things he wasn't doing in college. Remember how he whiffed on that key screen to Welker late in the 2nd half? There will be growing pains, but I'm just not sure you want your QB to feel the brunt of that pain.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

Hernandez is a stud. Watching him at Florida, you knew he'd be a good one. He scares me.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

The funny thing is..... he has vastly improved since his Gator days.:)

He will get better and better:)

I agree, ...... and he's off the injury list this week.

Now, make use of him.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

AHern actually made Tebow seem better than he really was, as literally anything thrown near him was scooped up. The dude is a beast, Dallas Clark part 2.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

Only 20 and he's already got a 100 yard game under his belt. Wonder if he's the youngest tight end to do that.

Sorry to break your heart, pal, but you don't set the rules, here, or anywhere.

Check yourself, pal: You, and you, alone, took the thread off topic, last time, TWICE, and in pretty reprehensible ways.

And Aaron Hernandez was discovered a LONG time before YOU stumbled over him.

That's all I have to say on any thread you create.

And I wouldn't've said as much as that, except that that arrogant statement of yours was obviously addressed to me and a couple others who were disgusted with your previous statements.

The last word on this matter is yours, my parting gift to you. Caio.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

what ever you say cheech.....

Keep this on topic..... you are not.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

He is a good receiver but he ain't no Gronk.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

he's athletic, eager and a fierce competitor.

But he's a rookie who had a great day in part due to the lack of film on how he would be used. So let's see how he does when he runs plays teams have seen before. I think he'll be fine and could well be a fantasy top pick in the future ... but it's way to early to get excited ... he has many tests to pass yet.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

I like Hernandez, but starting in the preseason and moving into the regular season, I've seen him miss way too many blocks for comfort. Until he shores up that aspect of his game, he'll be a pretty one-dimensional threat.

Re: Aaron Hernandez redux thread.

I was way off the AH bandwagon leading up to the draft, mainly because I wanted an all-around TE. After getting one of them in Gronk, plus not having to get Hernandez until the 4th, it was definitely worth it! I don't care if he can't block, I'll take 100 yards any game ;)
