I can only imagine what they'd be writing if we'd beaten them.

Myers: "If Woody Johnson really wanted to send a message to his players and fans that the organization has zero tolerance for dangerous and stupid behavior, he would cut Edwards right now and fight any challenge from the NFL Players Association."

Lupica: "Edwards doesn't deserve saving on this. He certainly doesn't deserve to play on Sunday. Commissioner Roger Goodell ought to be able to give Edwards the same four games that Holmes got right now..."

We all know he was wrong. Maybe we should have not beer selling in all the games. I sure many went behind a wheel after drinking but not drunk. But I bet if you took a breath test you would fail and be DWI Maybe his teammates thought he was ok. I sure that has happen over your life time. Still wrong. So all your pats fans do not drink while in the stadium. ok Or go to a bar and drink. Remember these guys football players... Big guys

You're reaching, sir.

This really has nothing to do with who you're a fan of. It's appalling if the Jets don't suspend him for a game, at least. Is there an issue w/the union to do even that? If so, shame on the union--they can still not play him though.

I'm not sure you understand how it works.

When you get a DUI, they don't measure how many beers you've had. They measure blood alcohol. 16% of a big guy's blood is the same as 16% of a small guy's blood.

Capisce?

According to that article, they can't even bench him without the union potentially reacting. Shame on the union is right.

It's ludicrous that the punishment guidelines are so strict that the Jets can't deactivate Edwards or simply let him dress but not play without potentially facing a fight from the union.

So fans at the game driving after a few beers justifies what this guy did? That sounds what you are trying to say?

If it is, it could be one of the dumbest post made here in a while and that woudl be going long way.

These millionaire players were not at a game getting deluted beer. They have a personal conduct policy that has been tried to be drilled in their heads as well as normal law violation which we all face.

They can afford to hire a car and driver to take drive them on their night out to celebrate. And don't tell me they din't know that they were going to drink when they set out.

As a jet fan I want him still play the game. They can do it next week against the bills:rolleyes:. The bottom line is winning. We jets fan will forget this ordeal and move on.

This is repulsively selfish.

You want him to play and so are willing to completely ignore his criminal offense. Drunk driving is not to be taken lightly, he could easily have killed someone including the 2 Jets in the car with him.

Here's the worst part, the NFL provides players with services FREE of charge to prevent such incidents. Player Protect LLC provides this service to all players in NY/NJ area at cost to the club. There is no reason to be out driving.

Yes that true...... But how many players would call up for that service? Maybe they do not trust management and they use that against them in contract talk..

Yeah because this WON'T be used against him in contract talks.

You're quite the idiot. You won't be here long.

People are looking at this wrong. Braylon Edwards should be celebrated as a national hero. With the league unable to come to a new CBA because they have money issues, Edwards braved his life and the lives of others on the road to save the league money that might have bankrupted the league by not making them spend all that money to send him a limo to send him home eventhough the current CBA says that the league must pay for such trivial conveniences.

Kudos Braylon! Your, your teammates in the car, and everyone on the road with you's lives are clearly not worth the few thousand dollars it would have cost the league to send you a limo with security and make arrangements to get your car home. Way to take one for the league.

What's more telling is that Ferguson and Gholston were in the vehicle with him. They are just as stupid for getting in the car with him after he'd been drinking. Granted, they could have been drinking also, but it's no excuse.

First of all, there are more important things than football and drunk driving is a serious thing. Since this is his second DWI charge, he obviously does this fairly frequently.

Second, don't be surprised if Edwards gets wind that he is facing a 4 game suspension or longer, that he doesn't decide to take it this season. As a free agent next season, he will lose a lot of money with a suspension hanging over his head. He may opt to take it sooner rather than later to maximize his value in free agency.

A BAC of .16 means 0.16%. ;)

Second DWI? First I have heard of this, when did this happen?
