Brady on WEEI now

Anything interesting or revealing for us out of towners?

No! The soccer moms are very superficial in their analysis and in their questioning of Tom Brady. Need to wait for Gresh and Zo and then Fred and Steve to get some real analysis of the game.

I am an out of towner and catch the podcast (it was uploaded for me hear by 740am which is almost real time).

Brady said "we" a lot...win and lose as a team, etc. We could not do this or that...could not execute, etc. When asked about throwing to Moss even while covered, the kind of just admitted that they try and go for the guy with the best match-up, etc.

The best question was, "Did you "hear" Jason Taylor on the strip sack?"
Instead of truly answering it, Tom just said he was a great player and that if you leave him in single blocking long enough, he will break loose.

What I thought was EXTREMELY telling was when he hesitated when answering the question (paraphrasing here) "with Revis out, did you lock into Moss?" His answer was basically yes, btw. He did not come out and say that, but reading between the lines....yes, he did.

I only heard bits and pieces of it. More of the same from yesterday. The one thing I worry about is that Brady and O'Brien are too confident in their scheme. He admitted that they just assumed they were going to continue to roll over them in the second half and said it was only execution that prevented them from doing so. I'm not so sure. The pattern of poor second half play is now a year+ old. Some of it has to be coaching, I'm sure.

That said, Brady does need to execute better himself. That first half yesterday was as good as it gets - but the second half, well, that was about as bad as he's played - missing throws he doesn't normally miss and making questionable decisions.

The key is what is happening between the two performances.

That was a fantastic interview with Wilfork and he was honest, candid and raw. If teams have success running aginst the sub pacakges, they will continue to do so. It was a problem last year, it is a problem this year. They have not learned to stop it.

My question is: can they learn or is that talent just weak?

I will agree on that about execution. The coaching is stil not right but how much better would it look if Brady could throw an accurate deep ball, or actually use his weapons? Bill O Brien doesn't just say "Hey Tom, chuck it to Moss non stop". Other guys are running routes too ya know.

Brady will never be criticized by Pats fans but he has become anti clutch, plain and simple. Not once has he gotten it done for the win since Buffalo.

*waiting for the bricks to come flying*:bricks:

You won't get not even one brick from me. Brady is to blame for yesterday's loss. Yess the defense didn't help, but we all knew that side of the ball would be suspect this year. I expected much more out of Brady and the offense.

He's not the only one who is pissed off. It took two hours for me to stop being pissed after that debacle last night. I'm still a little pissed today.

:eek:I cant imagin what this board was like after the opener against buffalo in 2003

It's a virtual filibuster, I'm 11 minutes in and I think there's been three questions. Vince had a lot to get off his chest.

wilfork needs to take that emotion out and put it on the field and out around alll the player's on D
After a year and 2 games of this D playing like ****
they need to turn the books and step it up

I think it's worth saying that in the second half, Brady's passing was extremely inaccurate. He overthrew, he underthrew, he threw to back of the receiver. He simply wasn't sharp.

Also, I think that if Welker was foggy from a hit, Edelman should have been in there. We don't lose much when he's in the slot. And I wonder why Tate wasn't thrown to.

This team can--and will--give up 28 points from time to time, hopefully less as the season progresses. But if we expect to win, we must score at least 35. Brady has never had more or better tools. He should be using all of them.

Listening to Wilfork interview really makes him my favorite defensive player.
