Brady is very accurate on the short passes. Some of the throws in the first half he threw were amazing. Then he made the long throw to Moss and the game plan seemed to change. If there were someone on offense, say a charlie Weis that could keep Brady playing within himself the team would be better off. Seems O'Brien just lets Brady do whatever.

I looked up the "playbook" on nfl.com.

Brady was 20 of 36 overall, but only two for 10 going to Moss (so, 18 for 26 going to others). Undoubtedly a lot of this is the low-percentage nature of deep passes -- but you know these are low percentage going into things, right?

I believe "TAR" is the stat for attempts to a receiver?:
Moss: TAR 10; Compl. 2
Hernandez: 6/6
Welker: 7/6
Gronk: 2/1
Edelman: 2/1

Passer rating:
Brady to Moss: 36.6
Brady to others: 106.2

In the heat of the game even Brady needs guidance from a coach. I never see him getting any during the game.

100% agree, the force plays to Moss are starting to get stupid. On the Light sack, Brady is looking at Moss and he never looked to his left. Starting to think Moss is not good for the team. He does one thing, which is run down the right side line, that is it!!! Brady gave Jets two more possessions by forcing it to Moss.

The one interception on the 3 was not so bad.Better than a punt. Who knew the Jets would go 97 yards. It was the plays around the interceptions that were bad. A lot of three and longs.

150 Touchdowns and all he does is run down the right side line.... not bad

Okay, Moss is bad for this team. Have fun with Brandon Tate as a deep threat, I'm sure the NFL is ****ing themselves

Moss is not bad for the team....it's the teams obession with his abilities that is the problem. Go back to what made you great. Ball distribution.

Someone fax this to Brady.

u ppl need to stop saying this sh**

that dows was NOT 4th down, its was a 3rd and 7, in those cases, with our passing game, we SHOULD be getting a 1st down....

Believe I saw where he threw to Welker and Hernandez only 2 times each in the 2nd half. Threw to Moss 4 times in the 2nd half with ZERO results.

Moss isn't the problem. It's whoever can't figure out how to best use him that is.

Second half: 2 for 3 to Hernandez; Welker 2/2 (none in fourth)

I definitely disagree with a lot of what's been written on Brady's deep passes.

IMO, only one--the second INT--was a bad throw/decision.

To discuss this stuff without getting into the particular situation doesn't help.

For instance, one of the throws ended in an INT.

You look at the stat sheet, and it reads, 0-1 plus INT for that play.

Yet, the situation was third and long, and on the replay, they showed that every single receiver was covered, Wes Welker even broke off his route and gave up on it. Randy was in single coverage downfield. You could see Brady scanning the field just looking for someone short. But there was no one open. Brady had plenty of time. Finally, he made the right decision and lofted it up to Randy. Cromartie intercepted, Jets ball at the 3. Effectively, that's a punt. Nothing wrong in that interception.

On the second INT, Brady read it wrong because he thought Randy was going to fly down the field, but Randy put on the brakes after he made his move, and from then on, Moss was out of position for the catch. I'd rather criticize Brady and the coaches there for not having the urgency to get to the LOS and snap the ball before the Jets challenged the ruling on the field.

I have no qualms with them going deep otherwise.

Again, the problem with the Patriots yesterday was unimaginative playcalling. 2 yard runs put them in the hole for 3rd downs. When you go 3rd and long against the Jets, they flood the field with DBs, shut down the short routes, and stick their CBs one on one with the WRs. The combination of poor playcalling and Randy's inability to make those jump ball plays downfield is what killed our options.

Disagree, I think Mesko was used properly yesterday

Moss is an important part of our offense because of how he stretches the defense which makes Welker's job much easier. Without Moss our offense isn't as good as it is WITH him. Brady just needs to stop throwing so many long passes to him. The problem is with Tom's decisions, its not Randy's fault. When brady settles down and learns to spread the ball again, we'll be back in business.

The play was designed to go to Welker who made the wrong read and was covered. No one was open, so the options are throw it away and then punt or heave it up to Moss for a chance at the TD and in the event of INT it's "as good" as a punt.

And btw, it was 3rd & 13.

I remember when TFB's #1 receiver was whoever was open. Now he seems to have locked in on Moss a bit more which doesn't help anybody. Moss is great, but a covered receiver is a covered receiver.

Who was open?

If what you say is true than why is his completion % higher with Moss than without?
