After many hours today after that tough loss, after drinking a bit, a large dinner, and the SNF game, I promised my self that I wouldn't make a ***** fest about the performance of the team tonight. As much as I think that the team was struggling in a lot of areas, we struggled with one area that we shouldn't have. Quarterback play. I'm not going to sit here and pretend its easy to be an elite QB in this league, its hard to go out there and consistently put up a good performance. But Randy Moss, despite all the absolutely wonderful things he does for this offense in terms of taking the lid off the defense, has one bad effect. He goes up and makes a spectacular catch, and Brady locks on him. This became most apparent to me reflecting about the first half, and how Brady was hitting everyone and their mother with passes. But that just stopped. I don't know how, I'm not exactly sure why, but what Cromartie lacks in technique he makes up for in physical stats. He has the length and speed to cover Moss in his current age. So for whatever reason Brady thought he could just abuse Cromartie, and after the first pick, I thought he'd learn his lesson. But he just never did.

In summary of my moan fest, I'm not going to say that he needs to be traded or some of the other ridiculous knee jerk reactions. But he definitely needs to improve his play. As much as I hate Peyton Manning, the SNF game tonight with the exceptions of a few plays, he hit the open man. This needs to be Brady in all 4 quarters, not just quarter one and two.

You're exactly right. Cromartie is a terrible matchup for Moss. Yes, he will get burned sometimes, but so will other corners. The difference is he's fast and big enough to defend and force turnovers. He's exactly the guy that should be on Moss.

One of the worst games I've seen from Brady. I thought 2009 was a good year to learn a lesson about relying too much

Still, this game is the exception and not the rule. Great stat: this is the only multi-interception game Brady has had vs. the Jets. That's, what, 18 games? Hopefully he'll develop more trust in guys like Gronk, Tate, and Hernandez as the season goes on, and even on the "must convert" downs he won't lock in on Moss or Welker.

Also, that first INT acted as a great punt. Can't really get too upset at the result. Predictably, the team lacked the mental toughness to recognize that and instead lost all confidence and imploded.

Oh yeah, and my Welker jersey is cursed. It's an away and I got it last year for the Colts game, you can see where this is going. And I wear it on away games, I know that this is largely based on the rest of the team, but I'm gonna try and wear my Brady jersey( the Brady jersey is almost undefeated, only one loss with it). Here's hoping it works.

Damnit man what were you thinking?!!!! It's all your fault!!!! :)

It's like my new Texas Longhorns shirt. They're 2-0 when I've worn it but they've lost 318 times in school history when I haven't. Clearly there's a connection. ;)

Man, I had the exact same feeling today about my Patriots 50th Anniversary hoody. I woke up early for the game (living in Sydney) and I went to grab my Pats hoody and I just got a weird vibe from it, man... Like something wasn't right.

I KNEW I should have taken it off after Gost missed that field goal. :(

I really love this board..but if I see any more discussion about trading brady or brady's play..I'm out. Yea, he has a bad half (not even a bad game) and we are going to put it on Brady? Get the F out of here. He had one bad pick, and another that bounced around and ended up being a lucky in the right place at the right time pick. Other than that, he was solid. Welker came back in the game with a GD concussion and tried as much as he could. This team is going to be solid as the weeks roll on and will make a great run at the superbowl.

Forgive me if I am a little older and more grown up than I use to be and I'm not going to go hang myself over my team losing. I love Tom Brady, I love the patriots win or lose.

Its not Brady that lost the game kids..its the 10 yard cushion!

- Tom Brady, in the second half, was no where near solid even without the interceptions. Over thrown and under thrown completions do not equal solid.
- Brady's first interception was on third down and was a bomb into the endzone....no significant impact.
- Welker being unavailable means Brady needs to find other places to put the ball.
- Anyone saying Tom Brady should be traded is ruled far too much by their emotions.
- The coaching staff/play calling takes some blame too
- The defense, unable to stop the Jets in the second half, takes some blame too.
- The Jets defense deserves a lot of credit.
- Tom Brady definitely takes some blame too.
- This is a loss in week 2. Panic is absurd at this point.

I'm not saying he shouldnt take some blame..but if Tom Brady is the biggest problem in a loss, I am ok with that because there is no one I would expect to make the right changes and get better more than him.

Tom Brady has forgotten what made him a HOF QB, i.e seeing the whole field, finding the open man, clutch throws when it matters the most.
Ever since Moss arrived on the scene Brady now thinks he's John cannon for an arm Elway. He's not!
Belichick needs to get Brady back to his roots. One way to do that will be letting Moss go. It's sad but Tom simply can't be trusted to manage the game and the clock they way he used to. He's too obsessed with getting the ball to his binky.

He had a rough second half. And yes, he seemed to lock in on Moss and forced throws to him. That second INT was tipped up by Moss, but never should have been thrown anyways.

But I wouldn't want anyone else as our QB. He'll watch the tape and learn from it.

What concerns me about Bradys 2nd half behavior is that it's not a one time event.
This happened last year as well and to the point what makes anyone think he will learn from this game.
I am truly puzzled by his decisions yesterday and the only place to address the issue is between Tommy's ears.
He has a wealth of options.....use them

You must have missed the part where I said I'm NOT advocating him leaving this organization. I love the guy as much as the next person, but even he'd tell you he needs to play better.

This needs to be Brady in all 4 quarters, not just quarter one and two.

No arguments here on him needing to play better - and I'm sure Brady would agree with you.

All you'll find there are Gisele's puppet strings and lots of Benjamins. :p

I knew we were in trouble when a picture of Bridget M popped up on a Fall tv show promo.
UGHHHHHHH

For the love of God, just do what makes you successful: ball distribution, "favorite reciever-guy who is open," and STOP FORCING THE BALL TO MOSS!
