How do you think the offense will come out?

I feel as though, even without Jenkins, the Pats will go to their Vikings 2006 gameplan. Why bother with the run? The Pats are in a unique position where they can control the clock without having to hand the ball off. I see a lot of snaps out the shotgun with Faulk (and maybe even Edelman??) in the backfield. Or, are the Pats going to utilize their new TE's and keep it conservative? (

I was at the Jets game last year, had a perfect view of Galloway catching what should have been a TD - thank God we don't have to worry about that type of nonsense anymore).

Oh, and anyone still looking to go to the game, as of a few hrs ago, there were tickets on Ticketmaster. And don't worry - Pats fans are fine at those games. I've been to 3. You'll see plenty of other Pats jerseys around.....

I think the Pats will still come out slow and try the running game, at least on 1st down, just so Brady can get a feel for the defense and not get killed like Flacco did on the 1st play from scrimmage. As long as our D can hold, I think they are going to start slow and get a feel for what the Jets are doing, even if it results in a couple of early 3 and outs. If our D can't hold them and they score early, all bets are off.

Who knows how they will come out but they need to come out aggressive. Hopefully a lot of draws, screens and quick slants over the middle.

I respectfully disagree. I think the pats come out aggressive and try to score quickly to take the crowd out of it while making the Jets play from behind and make mistakes. It seems to be the Pats mantra when they are in a hostile environment. I see our TE's being used often on the first drive as I believe the Jets will try to concentrate more on containing moss and welker rather than worry much bout the TE's.

Time is on the Jets side, and the longer we take to score/build a lead gives them that much more confidence. The jets are most likely not very confident right now, regardless of what they say in the pressers, and a quick hit for a TD or 2 by the Pats should make them shrivel up inside.

However, if we can't score in the first quarter, i think it's going to be a long day for the Pats.

OTOH, BB has no compunction about giving up something that he knows isn't going to work (e.g., when he had Brady just throw over Minnesota's vaunted run D back in 2006).

I don't think he'll go 5 wide, but I think he'll keep the backs in for max prot and go pass happy. The Jets have a stout run D, and BB shown in the past that he doesn't like to run into a wall if he doesn't have to. With Brady and complement of receivers, he doesn't have to.

Yeah, there is definitely that, but the vaunted run D isn't going to kill Brady the way the vaunted blitz might. I guess I'm on the fence as I sit here and think about it. I guess it wouldn't hurt to come out right away and see if the short passing game is going to work. I just don't want to see Brady get rattled early, as those are the games that go down the tube quickly for us.

I also recall a time when he started a game against a team with a great secondary by running the ball like 15 times in a row. Think it was with Corey Dillon.

The question was how we will come out. I indicated that my preference is for a formation with 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR's and 2 TE's. The players I expect to start are Brady, Taylor, Moss, Welker, Grankowski, and Crumpler. As an alternative, I could certainlty see starting Faulk instead of Taylor.

Who would YOU sit in order to start Tate? Please understand that to play Tate at all you either need to sit Moss or Welker, OR you need to reduce the protection for Brady by sitting a tight end.

I think a lot of people are calling for spread formations, with 3 WR and 2 TE. With Edelman back, I would even expect to see 4 WR 1 TE at some point. Brady will destroy the blitz. Faulk will come in on 3rd down as usual, with perhaps 2 TE and 2 WR.

It will also be interesting to see how they utilize Hernandez in this game, and whether they utilize a power formation, with 3 TE, Taylor, and Moss. This would be fun to watch in the second half if the Pats are up by a few touchdowns.

But I think they spread it out as much as they can. The Jets defense gets after it, need to make them cover as much field as possible.

It would be tempting to go 3 TE power set, send Moss to Revis Island, and see what happens, but that involves leaving Welker off the field, not the most appealing of ideas.
