I think there might be some strategy this week a BIT MORE than last week with an almost full team of players...Kaczur, Wheatley out....and one spot not filled..Will they even add a player if that person is not going to be active?? For now..let that spot be one of the inactives..so there's less speculation as to who or what they do with it. Two more will be OL...Manri and Ojinnaka..thinking that Wendell and LeVoir are backups. That makes 5....WR Price makes 6..Edelman will play (I hope) That leaves 2 more..Deaderick and Fletcher, two rooks to make 8. If Edelman does not play they may substitute Price OR add Fletcher OR maybe add in a PSquad player.

Murrell played a few snaps last week so I think we will see the 53rd slot filled with an OLB you will be active. Cunningham played a lot of DE, not so much OLB - I assume Cunningham is a rookie and does not "get it" at OLB yet.

Well it won't be Murrell!

RapSheet said:
No word on the #Patriots 53rd man on the roster.... but I am told its NOT OLB Marques Murrell.

Given that they're waiting this long, it pretty much HAS to be somebody from the practice squad who's been preparing with the team all week, right?

same as last week minus LoMo.

I like Price.... but I doubt he is in for this game.

If it is not Murrell, I do not dare say the other OLB's name!!!:eek::eek: Just speaking his name might break his arm. :D

I agree it would be nice to see Price - let's hope he is a player.

Does anyone know positively that Mankins was placed on the Exempt List?

I don't think we're allowed to have only 52 players.

I hope to see a lot of Edelman this week vs the Jets. I suspect that Hernandez will catch a few passes too.

So...now that it seems that Danny Woodhead is the 53rd...how does that change things???
I think it DOES.....could he play STs?? Yes...and if Edelman is not ready Woodhead could be....so I would say Kaczur, Wheatley, Ojinnaka, Maneri, Deadrick, Fletcher, Price and either Woodhead or Edelman

I'd be very suprised if Woodhead was active.

I expect Woodhead to be inactive. But honorary team captain for the coin toss.

Wendell as he clearly showed how lacking he in the redzone play where he let him man over power him in 2 downs in a row and nearly costing us the TD.

I also have to wonder what is up with Welker limited NO injury but probable...huh???? Just seems odd....

I wouldn't look to much into it. Welker is going to play.

I understand...but if it's not related to an injury and yet Probable..it's a bit odd...Jut wondered if there was something deeper running under the radar that many are missing...
I agree that I really doubt he's active this week..esp if Edelman is healthy..OTOH...I am sure he might be able to pick up some STs and play there...BUT other than that.. I would doubt he would see any offensive plays.
Everyone thinks this is a mind game AND I am sure that is part of that..but I wonder how this team looked at Woodhead for the draft?? Yje Jets signed him pretty quickly that year...like a minute after the draft...(OR maybe even before it was over...) so I wonder if they saw something in how he played. so this pickup is as much a possibly long term situation.
