I've been stubborn about this, but for me, Belichick has made it clear.
Belichick thinks that we need five running backs on the 53 man roster.
That being the case, James is an addition with the potential to play some as a short yardage back if there is an injury and he is active. He was a 6th or 7th round prospect and could be an OK pickup.
I still hope that we go down to nine offensive lineman and add a defensive or special team player. For example, when Kaczur in healthy, I'd much rather have Sergio Brown on the squad than Maneri. Or we could elevate McKenzie or Crable. Or we could pick up a corner.
