OT: Will Rex and Mark play "Red light, Green light?" Sunday

Remember late last year when Fat Man had a system of Red light Green light for Sanchez because he was throwing to many picks?
After Monday nights game where Sanchez looked like he was told to play it safe and not throw down field will Jabba the Gut take leash off him? I think this week Rexy may feel he has to score some points, so he'll give sanchez the Green light to throw down field. On the other hand its not the Ryan Family style (Buddy, Rob, and Rexy) to let the QB have a green light to go for it. At least thats what i heard on Sirius NFL radio last night. The Ryans believe in winning through strong defense and the QB Not losing the game.

I guess if the Jets use last weeks game as an indicator of where the Patriots are vulnerable....then that would make sense....Ochocinco and Palmer did hook up on some long pass plays....but I have no doubt that BB is very prepared for this and will gameplan for that...and Sanchez will throw at least 2 interceptions.

My only concern is that Butler has been a little prone to draw PI calls. Would we put Butler on Cotchery and McCourty on Edwards?

Edwards is 6'3" and the faster of the two, while Cotchery is 6'. McCourty is bigger and more physical but a step slower than Butler.

Put Butler on Edwards, Edwards will drop more passes than he catches anyway.

But as we know our CB's don't switch sides, so the Jets will determine who covers who.

No offense but Sanchez is NO Carson Palmer. Many of those hook-ups, particularly to Ocho were Elite throws/catches by too VERY quality players that have played together for YEARS.

Sanchez can't make those throws consistently. If Sexy Rexy goes with that gameplan for Sanchez, he'll have 4-5 picks before getting yanked in the middle of the third.

After watching how McCourty played last weeks game...my guess is that McCourty is going to see more time covering the opponents #1 WR with increasing regularity....

I think BB really likes the kid and is showing a lot of trust in handling top WR's one on one.

I think he'll be up to covering Edwards and put Butler on Cotchery.

Yup. No way Sanchez threads the needle like Palmer was doing. Some of Carson's throws were VERY well done, and into almost a spare-tire sized area.

Sanchez had some horrible throws Monday night, but his receivers didn't help him much either.

I see BB throwing a lot of exotic looks and blitzes at Sanchez. The jests only have One good reciever. If McCourty could shut down TO he should be able to shut down Boldin, that leaves Keller left as the jests best pass catcher. Im sure the safties can take him out.

Put Butler on Edwards, McCourty on Cotchery, and Guyton on Keller in passing situations.
Men, I really think this will be a easy game. I just don't see our offense beeing stopped with Wilson and Cromartie on the field.

a) for the pure comedy of picturing Fatman having to dumb down the offense to a pre-schooler level of red light, green light.

b) There is actual discussion on strategy vs the Jets!

I am really optimistic on Mccourty, and with Sanchez at QB, I am not worried about him matching up against any of the Jets receivers, at least not Edwards, who I think is one of the most overrated WRs out there.

If anything, Cotchery and keller have given us the most problems. I see chung being able to cover Keller better than any of our Safeties or LB's in the past. Crotchery will get a few balls, but Butler will cover him well and hopefully doesn't give up the big play.

Which reminds me, can someone tell me what happened to Santonio Holmes? I don't recall hearing his name once Monday night and he doesn't show up on the stats sheet. If we get any sort of pressure whatsoever on Sanchez, I doubt sanchez will be able to throw the long ball to him.

I am dying to see whether we can get pressure on Sanchez. This is a key to the game for us I believe. With Faneca gone, hopefully the Jets O-line will be a bit more susceptible to the interior rush, which is actually looking better this year.

At any rate, I like McCourty on the left side against whoever the Jets put out there. Not to divert the thread, but I am of the belief that even if Bodden didn't get hurt, McCourty would still be our starting LCB and Butler would have moved to Nickel. Given their strengths, it just seems like a better fit.

Holmes is suspended for the first 4 games. Substance abuse policy.

Edwards is highly overrated and simply has terrible hands/concentration on routine throws. I have no doubt we can get pressure on Sanchez via Slausson. D-Brick was struggling on Monday night and Woody looked like garbage in the pass game. I see a lot of interior pressure via the LG and TBC off the corner. Hopefully we can see Cunningham get some action against Woody, would like to see what he can do.
