so...we have an open roster spot...(or two) with Murrel being released. We have Mankins unsigned and Maroney traded. This frees up some $$ and a roster spot?

My wishes.....

sign Jarvis Green

&

Extend Randy Moss

It means that Maroney has been traded and Mankins has not.

I wasnt asking "what would Belichick say"....

we have some roster spots to fill, and some extra coin....what will we use it on?

Jarvis Greene? Isn't he done?

Reiss said Green was visiting Cleveland this week. I suspect if BB wanted him back he'd be back by now. Others have speculated Murrell might be back and one of the Herald's people reported his stuff was still in the locker room so who knows.

Mankins might be traded but I suspect BB might wait until Oct. to get the most out of him from some desperate teams up against the trade deadline.

That sucks. I never stopped believing Maroney was about to turn it around.

Maybe Crable is getting promoted from the practice squad????

I couldn't believe they released Murrell the week before we play his former team. Players always step up against former teammates. I wouldn't mind bringing him back this week.

probably means we're gonna go out and get ourselves a Quarterback. The guy we have sucks.

WE can't trade Mankins because he's not under contract. We'd have to sign him first, and the team being traded with would have to accept that new deal. I don't see that happening.

What I see is Mankins being signed and back on the field with New England either just before or just after the bye week.

Yeah. I'm with you. I liked the guy and was always pulling for him... But, "In BB I trust."

Murrell was a shadow roster player? These things have happened before. And it makes sense for the Pats because signing him in week 2 means his contract won't be guaranteed in any way.

all this stuff about not being able to trade mankins is crap we own him he can't play for anyone else unless trade so we can trade his rights so it is a sign and trade which i am betting will happen for a 3rd and 6th to someone from the NFC

Given the minor details that ...
(a) he agrees to play for that team and
(b) they agree to pay him what he wants and
(c) they're also willing to cough up a reasonable draft pick or less likely, a player.

Not crap in my view

Sadly, a move up from the practice squad would probably result in a season ending injury for Crable. :snob:

BEGIN SARCASM

Who is this....Crable? Never seen him on the field.... is he a coach or something?

END SARCASM

I never figured Murrell was gone for good. We need the help at OLB.

I believe that if he is on the roster for week 1 and he is a vested (whatever that means) veteran his contract is guaranteed. I don't know if Murrell is a vested vet or not but it is the week 1 game that guarantees the salary, not week 2 or beyond. It would seem to me that his contract, for this year, is guaranteed.
