I see BB's D geting some picks off The Sanchize in his short passing game. If we disguize the coverages their QB will fail to make the correct reads.

NE just needs to be ready to jump short, checkdown routes to Sanchez's right since that was about all he threw last night.

Which honestly is a strength of this defense. The closing speed of McCourty, Butler, and Chung on those short dumpoffs has looked outstanding in preseason and week one.

I feel like the Pats could blow the Jets out, then again, it could be a close one. I really hope Edelman comes back this week and that would add another weapon on the field. If your the Jets, who do you cover?

I would suspect the game from last night will be in heavy rotation at Foxboro today.

I only saw the second half last night, but the Jets kick coverage looked fantastic, and their D, if they can commit less penalties, has potential to be truly great. They can really dominate the LOS, even after the D has been on the field for 30something minutes.

That said, I think such a demoralising loss in such a physical game with a short week of preparation is going to make the Pat's job much easier. The Jets will be facing a Pats team with that showed a lot of creativity in play calling, and a ton of different, versatile personel packages on both sides of the ball. Compound this with a Pats team not having to tip their hand the whole second half on Sunday, and the Jets have their work cut out for them preparing for next game.

Besides these situational factors, I think the Pats O matches up much more favorably with the Jets D than the Ravens O. Pats screens would tear up the blitzing D we saw last night, so I believe the Jets D will have to play much more conservatively, allowing Brady to really test that Jets secondary. Sanchez is bad enough that the Pats can really load up the box and contain the Jets running attack. Pats should win pretty convincingly.

Great post, though I don't like the last sentence cause I never predict a convincing win, especially on the road against a physical team like the Jets.

The Jets offense is vulnerable right now, which gives us a good chance to win this game. We should be able to hold them to 16 points or less. The key will be if we commit to stopping the run, can we still cover Keller in play action? If we can, then I don't see the Jets breaking 13.

On offense, assuming we don't turn the ball over, we should be able to squeak out at least 17 based on what I saw this week vs Cinci. Some concerns I have are:

- despite the problems Wilson and Cromartie had last night, they are not to be taken lightly. Wilson is very quick, and Cromartie is as dangerous as they come if he picks you.

- only throw deep with max protection called, I don't want to see Brady hit 10 times.

- our TE's need to catch at least 12 balls. We need them on the field all night to handle the Jets' physicality, so mix it up and get them the ball.

I think they're going to send the house after Brady and try to beat him up, even at the expense of giving up yards.

I guarantee u that the jets will have better passing stats then wat they had.I am concerned at how this team will move the ball. The Jets D is still very good.I think we will have to score more then 14 points to win this game.

Don't be surprised by a last minute announcement that the Jets have signed AD, and that he will start and be a captain for Sunday's game.

And you have to think Guyton is hungry for more of what he got Sunday.

On the offensive side: Anyone else thinking this is not the week we see Maroney? Seems like the RBs will be asked to do a lot of protecting, not exactly LoMo's strength.

(Brady on 'EEI this week was asked how the accident felt compared to some other hits he's taken on the field; he mentioned Ray Lewis got him with one in the playoff game last year that he still feels. I think we all know which hit he's talking about ...)

EDIT: Um, guess not on Maroney this week. :)

If the Patriots contain the Jets running game Pats win hands down, I dont care how good the Jets defense is there not going to hold the Patriots under 20.
