With all of the question marks, hemming and hawing we were by far the most complete football team in Week 1. Every elite team showed their flaws this week.

Couldn't ask for a better start to the season. This team has a lot of good things to build on and just enough bad for BB to get in their asses about.

Good stuff. Now on to the game that I have been salivating over since the draft! The overhyped bums from NY er...NJ proved what they were tonight and there isn't much hope for them improving on offense. And I thought we had the only LG issue in the East?

Not getting to high after week 1 but this team is good in all three phases of the game. :rocker:

It's only week 1, but hard to argue otherwise. What's great is that Pats dominated while really playing a B/B+ game. Left a lot of yards/points on the board.

You couldn't really ask for a better start to the season. Pats win and look pretty solid doing it. njj lose, colts lose, raiders/panthers lose... I'm still expecting some rough games along the way, but it's hard not to stop and enjoy the feeling for a bit!

Brady certainly is in consideration for player of the week in the AFC,probably the NFL in week 1,only Arian Foster was more impressive than Brady IMO.

Next week I hope its one of our LBs :)

Yep... I don't think anyone played even close to as well. Hopefully it stays that way.

It's only one week one. The team looks good but a lot can change in a few games. I want to see how they handle a good 3-4 defense like the Jets.

Just about every team in the league looked pretty sloppy this week except for the Patriots, honestly. If it keeps up this way I'll be quiet pleased. That said, we have to remember to temper our expectations.

I said that in another thread. All the really hyped teams; Packers, Jets, Saints (their hype is well deserved though), Colts all looked quite poor. I can't explain it either, I think it was a product of good coaching and playing with a chip on your shoulder. I just hope we keep our level of performance up.

The offense showed us that they're going to be hard to stop people this year. With a healthy Fred Taylor and our slew of RB's, we're going to give opponents a lot to worry about. Defense performed better than expected. Hopefully we can keep it up this week and slaughter the Jets.

Probably a coin toss between the Patriots, Giants and Texans for mine. Given the quality of opposition you'd think the Patriots but for meaningful wins you'd give it to the Texans who abandoned their passing game and ran all over the Colts when they realized the Colts couldn't shut down anything.

The win in week 1 shows that we can out score an NFL offense with 2 big time WRs and a proven veteran QB. the patriots didnt squeeze out a win, they dominated most of the game.

Being able to dominate most of the game against a team that has a really good offense is a really good sign that your defense is ready for the NFL season.

How epic was that kick off return by tate in the 3rd? the bengals had to regroup and went to a prevent offense and kept the ball for so long this way Brady doesnt get it back and really put the game out of reach.

The only way the Jets score this week is if the defense scores or a big special teams play.

The Jets will not put together a long drive against us. That offense is terrible.

lots and lots of football to be played. settle down.

week 1 win is good in the W column but really means nothing. we won't know who this team is until late october.

It's pretty hard not be excited about sundays game against a team that many predicited would/will be one of the better teams in the AFC this year...

but there is one thing I keep in mind after the first game of the season..and it has usually stayed true...

Teams are never as good or as bad as they are on the first week of the NFL season.....

If we stomp the Jets Sunday....The rest of the NFL is going to be very, very worried about the Patriots.

Except in 2007 when every Patriot fan KNEW we were going to be a nightmare to stop on offense.....

I think this offense has the potential to be miles better than the 2007 offense.....

Once the kids (Gronk,Tate,Hernandez) get their feet under them (they already look pretty darn good), this O can be very special.

OL has to stay healthy also.

Let the old men carry the load on the ground with BJGE rotating in to keep them fresh.

I think they will be 2007-ish. But I'm not sure they will be that good, let a lone miles better. I do believe they will lead the league in scoring though.

Or completely ignorning that those teams were all playing good teams, and we werent.

The Ravens, Vikings, and Texans are all a lot better teams than the Bengals.

I think you are selling the Bengals short. The Texans are good but they are no better than a 10 win team. The Vikings have no receivers, and the Ravens offense looked out of synch, they may get better and obviously they played a good defense. But Housh has only been there for a week.
