What does he need to apologize for? He said what he felt and apologized to Kraft.
So, looks like Schefter's source was correct about Kraft's preference for a public apology. I was doubting it.
That just means he got one tiny bit of the story right, since the main point of Schefter's piece is that the lack of public apology held up a done deal.
That's like somebody writing that I banged a hot chick in a bar, with the only tiny truthful part being that I was at a bar and that a hot chick was indeed present.
The Pats are only one aspect of Kraft's business practices, and he didn't get to where he is by having people doubt his integrity. Mankins slandered him publicly, and made statements that could impact Kraft's future business dealings. Mankins is showing an embarrassing lack of honor by not having already publicly apologized of his own accord.
I honestly have no idea why some people think there's some sort of unfair burden on Mankins.
Time for Mankins to fire his agent if this is true.
Kraft says he never had a deal in place Mankins....says Mankins did apologize to him and Mankins stated to Kraft that he would make it clear that his prior comments about the Patriots were uncalled for and untrue and he would publicly clear the air when he (Mankins) either signed with the Patriots OR with another team. Kraft says Shefter's story is a boldface fib.
It's clear that Mankins camp is who leaked this
Logan may be a man of principle (??) but I'm not so sure his agent is.
Krafty just made himself and the Patriots another enemy in the national media...Now Schefter will be an anti Pats guy, just like most of 'em out there...
The moment i read this you lost ALL credibility.Krafty just made himself and the Patriots another enemy in the national media...Now Schefter will be an anti Pats guy, just like most of 'em out there...
If Kraft's future dealings are impacted by what some meathead football player thinks, then we're all in trouble.

True. It's not like we could lose a first-round pick and be labeled cheaters for violating a rule about camera placement on the words of some meatheads, either.
What people say publicly matters. That's why we have slander/libel laws.
