TRADE BACK!!!!

And no freakin' wideouts, I'll take linemen, one each, DL and OL.

Can we make that dl a pass-rushing olb? Then, I'm in. There are some bad teams out there. Not sure will be top 5. Buffalo, St.Louis, TB, Detroit and Cleveland are going to pretty bad. Teams like; Denver, Jax, KC and Carolina aren't so hot either. Plus Oakland has a very easy sked. Their 6 div. games plus the NFC West.

If the Rams beat them next week then I think we'll see just how good/bad they are

I think they will end up with a pick between 5 and 10.

I think I've said this a thousand times. You have to have the big horses up front in this defense soaking up OLmen so that the LBs can make plays. We could draft LT next year, but if the RDE isn't commanding a dbl team then that kid is going to have to take on an OT stack him up and beat him on a pass play or drive him back and seal the edge on running plays.
I would rather see the DL take on the double team allowing the OLB to beat a TE or a RB 1on1.

The question is... what OLB is going to be there in the early first worthy of that pick? From what I have seen the answer is... Noone.

Quinn is a freak but plays strictly DE, Haven't seen anything fron him that says OLB. Plus he is caught up in a cheating scandal, has he played yet this year? He's a Jr, will he declare?

Romeus is not looking good thus far, looks to have put on some weight and doesn't have the agility or athletism to move to OLB. He is a 43 DE all the way.

Aldon Smith is probably one who could do it, but he is a redshirt soph. Doubt if he comes out.

Von Miller? Not even on my list. At 6'2 240 he will get engulfed by OLmen. He needs to play in a 43 where he can use his speed to run and make plays.

Jack Crawford would probably be the next guy, and he's probably a late first guy. Will JoePa let him play in space a little this year? If he can show that he can play in space and drop into coverage and still seal the edge, he might be the top guy. But will he declare?

The first guy on my list that has shown in games that he can do it is also a JR. Akeem Ayers, UCLA, has played ILB, OLB, and DE. He plays the run, rushes the passer and is comfortable in space and in pass coverage. But will he Declare?

My ideal draft would be to trade back to the Mid 1st and take Jared Crick to play RDE, then the best OT that fits the system in the late first. Carolinas pick in the early second is Akeem Ayers.

If the Pats are in range of Robert Quinn, they should do what it takes to get him. He is a legit 6'5" and assuming his weight/strength gain following its current path, he should be 270+ lbs by draft day. Also runs in the 4.6 range.

Add in his production at UNC and he is pretty much the prototype Belichick OLB. Likely needs work in his drops and run support technique, but can already terrorize the opposing QB. Think Demarcus Ware, only bigger...which is scary.

With Quinn not playing due to NCAA investigations, teams with QB issues (Buffalo, KC, Cleveland) likely picking early, and Oakland looking pretty bad yesterday...it is looking more possible that Quinn is in play. I had put him off the radar and still aren't overly hopeful he will be within reach. But I will definitely be a Rams fan this weekend.

rams beat us in preseason. know it was preseason, but preseason pats == reg season raiders maybe?

rams have a shot.

But you only have 189 posts, I like Romeous also

Romeus has clearly taken a huge step back. He looks out of shape and way too heavy/stiff.

We did the Floida/South Florida game this weekend andSouth Florida has an athletic looking OLB, Marshall? I think? Very impressive going forward, but needs to get much stronger.

I watched Ayers get eaten alive by the big Stanford O Line this weekend.

I agree on Crick. I like his motor, but he needs to get much stronger. Crick looks like a player the Pats could plug in at DE after a red shirt year and he could start for the next decade.

Romeus is struggling with a back problem. He looked too heavy and out of shape. He just doesn't show anything that says he projects to OLB.
If he doesn't get healthy and show he can play he's going to be this years version of Greg Hardy or Carlos Dunlap.

A lot of people wanted Dunlap last year even after he went 275lb at the combine. 'He could be the next McGinest', I doubt it.

At some point you have to see the prospect for what he is, not what you want him to be. Athletecism is great, but if you don't fit into the scheme that this team plays you won't be playing here.

On the other hand I had Koa Misi as a serious target for the Pats as an OLB.
Why? He played OLB, DE and even DL for the Utes, rushed the passer, stuffed the run, played in space and dropped in coverage and is relentless. He is now the opening day starter for the Phins as a rookie in a similar defense as the Pats.

Am I disappointed in Cunningham? absolutely not. Getting knicked in camp has set him back a little. He'll get there.

Not the Raiders. But, KC looks like they might have some playmakers and had a great draft this past year. Solid at rb with T.Jones and J.Charles looks much bigger and stronger than I remember him. A couple of vets at wr with Chambers and D.Bowe. Now much D.McCluster working as tweener rb/wr and returning punts. T.Moeaki at te with a td last night. I'll give Cassel a mulligan since it was so wet out there. Hope the influx of talent keeps them above the Raiders.

Chiefs draft though
1. E. Berry - S - Many think will be pro bowler
2. D.McCluster rb/wr/return - You saw what he could do last night
3a J. Asamoah - g - Highly rated out of ILLINOIS]
3b T. Moeaki - TE - Iowa.

I thought Gates lit Berry up all game long. I think Berry will get great coaching to fix a lot of his coverage issues, but right now he is very raw. He would not be on the field if he played in new England.

I agree, Romeus is looking more and more like a 4-3 DE.

Still not sold on Cunningham. He may be the quickest Pat at the snap of the ball, but that is all I am seeing from him after a very limited sample of plays.

I still think Dunlap could play the Vrabel role very well in our defense, but not in year one, more likely in year two or three.

HUGE game this week for the Raidahs pick. COuld you imagine if they lose to the Rams???

If the Raiders can't beat the Rams at home, they are in serious trouble. If teams play aggressively against them and go after Campbell. The Raiders are in trouble. Their OL stinks and they don't have any wr's who can hurt you downfield.

I agree, the Rams need to send six or seven after Campbell on every passing down. He gets happy feet very quickly and then is prone to mistakes.

I think the Raiders have the worst O Line in pro football. Undisciplined and not very talented.
