NBC : Maroney may DNP even if healthy

The source is actually John Clayton of ESPN.

Actually, if the information in question is being sourced from the link provided, the source is Ian Rapoport. Clayton says nothing specifically regarding Maroney being deactivated while healthy.

I'm not seeing any pertinent comment from either Clayton or Rappaport. It's certainly possible that one of them speculated on this, but there's nothing original that I've been able to track down.

They provide a link to Rappaport twitter that says Maroney was in pads for practice, nothing resembling the comment attributed to him.

I believe the Rapoport link is just the information that Maroney is healthy. The belief that Maroney may not play whether healthy or not, is the commentary of the Rotoworld website.

That's what I'm saying. The blurb about Maroney being a DNP is in an entry that is attributed to Rapoport. But Rapoport doesn't have anything about it on his Twitter. So it basically seems like analysis written by an anonymous Rotoworld writer, and not based on anything concrete.

Starting is irrelevant but I expect that we will see tomorrow that the plan is what the plan has always been, Maroney and Taylor will alternate at RB.

With Faulk taking occasional handoffs.

NBC Sports, Rotoworld : "Maroney not certain to make the 45 man active roster Sunday even if fully healthy"

Laurence Maroney

Apparently Rotoworld is your type of site. pathetically obsessed with Maroney to the point they strain the truth out of their own sources until they can twist it into something else.

The quote
Laurence Maroney has been dealing with an abdominal strain, groin and ankle issues throughout the preseason, a league source tells the Boston Globe.
The story

Maroney back in the mix - The Boston Globe

The spin

This could help explain why Maroney was held out of the first three exhibition games. But Maroney has participated in every single training camp practice and looked fine while rushing for 32 yards on nine carries Thursday. We're considering him a third-stringer until proven otherwise.

No matter how you spin it, you admit your thread title is 100% horse s**t

I don't understand your post. An NBC owned website said that Maroney may DNP even if he his healthy. My thread title says "NBC : Maroney may DNP even if healthy ". Which word in the thread title do you find so objectionable?

will ppl let this go already? he would have been tested in the preseason if this was the case, he wasnt tested, so he will play in the opener if hes healthy

I would think in this game Brady will be throwing 3 to 1 in terms of pass to run so I would not expect any running back to do much of anything anyway...Fred Taylor will probably lead the team with 30 yards in this game.

In other news, Vince wilfork is going to be inactive because Belichick knows that Palmer will be throwing at Wilhite and Wheatley all game so there is not really a need for a run stopping nose tackle.

Ahh, ok, so it's wrong then ;)

@RapSheet didn't have anything to say about it, nor did anyone else who's credible, so it's a non-story as far as I'm concerned.

ESPN's John Clayton reports that Laurence Maroney (questionable, groin) is "unlikely" to be available in Week 1. Maroney was limited in Friday's practice

That is what he said. Make of it what you will.

Ha ha. So Rotoworld is NBC.

That might be surprising to some. What does Rotoworld think the stock market's going to do next week?

Any Rotoworld news from Afghanistan?

NBC owns Rotoworld. If you look on their website, you will see that. If I could separate the two companies for you I would. They wouldn't let me.

Just posting a link dude. Its not like I was exercising my first amendment rights or anything.

Taylor - 12 carries
Maroney 7 carries
other backs - 5 carrieis

thats how I see it tommorow.

It's really easy. Just say Rotoworld says. Then people know you're talking about a fantasy site that links articles from elsewhere because they have very little credibility of their own.

Fantasy means, if a team has one running back, play them because he'll get all the carries. Has nothing to do with real football, which is almost completely composed of teams who use multiple running backs these days.

Like I said, why care if maroney is in the game or not...for most of his Career so far his presence has not meant a damn thing to the final score but only to homers who believe in 30 years from now he will amount to something in the SCFL..(senior citizens football league)

Don't compare an all pro nose tackle to an all career mediocre RB - one is relevant the other is not

Are you seriously saying we're going to win without a running game tomorrow? You think Brady is going to magically light up the skies with Cincy dropping 8 into coverage on every play?

No running game = fail = Brady killed
