Yes, the Bengals are are good team. Yes, it's opening day....But with the team that's on the schedule for week 2, is it possible they are not 100% focused on Cincinnati? The week 2 opponent being the team's biggest rival, the team getting all the pre-season hype, the team with the loud mouthed, obnoxious head coach, the team with the famous TV show. I know Belichick is not, but could some of the players be?.....I would think that they are not, but just throwing it out there, wondering if it has crossed any other minds..

I think The Jets are more in the head of the pats fan base then the Pats team.

The Pats will go one game at a time.

The team was bad in its last two exhibition games, and this is the first game of the season. I don't think they'll be looking past the Bengals.

Some of the team's fans are looking past the Bengals. I would hope that the team isn't. If that's the case, I'd imagine that the Pats would get their asses kicked up and down the field tomorrow.

I seriously doubt the players are looking past the Bengals. Cincinnati is a very good football team. It's not as if the Pats are playing Tampa Bay with a backup QB starting.

As far as fans go, perhaps some are looking ahead to week two. I guess I'm in the minority, the Jets game has barely entered my mind this week.

Is it even possible to look past your season opener?

You have to be kidding me?

How do you figure that this team which is so full of question marks has any reason to look past ANY team in week 1?

This team would need to focus on the Lions if they had been the opponent, let alone the AFC North champs.

usually this thread is started after the pats lose a game :)

It's worse than you imagine. As is typical for Belichick and Brady they're already game planning for the Super Bowl.

Frankly I think that sort of audacity may backfire on them and am very concerned.

geesh, thanks guys....last time i post here.

You think its bad now?

Just wait and see how it will be in here if the Pats lose on sunday...

Chaos will reign supreme if they fall short

No!!

Bengals are too good a team and the Patriots last game at Gillette was an embarrassing route at the hands of the Ravens. This team will develop a swagger as they go but they don't have one now nor should they.

Yes, it's possible. It's also possible that monkeys might fly out of my butt.

Threads like this come from the assumption that football is hobby to the players like it is to fans.

To answer from a fan's perspective: I can't say I've given the Jets game a second's thought.

I feel like there are too many unknowns to be excited about (Gronk, Hernandez, Mesko) and anxious about (a D that'll rely heavily on second-year guys and rookies who all appear to have excellent potential but will be counted on to perform right off the bat against some good offensive players). There'll be no more "it's just the pre-season" or "they played vanilla D/O". The questions about the direction of the franchise for the next five years start to get answered tomorrow, and that's enough to hold my attention.

As for the players -- no way they're looking ahead.

As someone who does think about the JETS I've not thought about them at all this last week as the Cats game approaches. Given its opening day and the piss poor performance the Pats team displayed in its last 2 summer games I seriously doubt that any member of the team thinks about the Jets this past week.
