The: I'm starting to get nervous thread

So who's starting to get nervous about tomorrows game?

I will admit I am. Opening day games and playoff games always get me nervous. This one is against a really good team so I may be even a little more nervous. I think after I take the first hit I'll be OK.

Maybe it's just a combo of excitement and nerves but the next 24 hours is going to be tense for me.

I certainly am more concerned about this defense than I have been going back to 2002

I see this game being less than a 4 point victory and can certainly go either way...it scares me when Tedy Bruschi himself thinks Cincy pulls this one out.

It won't hit me untill about a 1/2 hour before kick off, then I turn into a freaky uptight spaz.

Absolutely! Me too.

Especially this year. What will happen with this defense? Can they stop the run on third-and-short/red zone? Is Brady *really* back? Can the "co-ordinators" step up?

Cinci's a good team, they've been under our radar because the last time we had to play them they were the old Bengals. But they beat Baltimore and Pitt twice each last year, and several analysts have them winning the SB this year, so they're for real.

I can't get over how tough our schedule is this year - 11 games against upper echelon teams.

That's because John Brantley sucks. We're going to get spanked against Alabama and LSU.

Anyway I'm not getting nervous. I would more or less call it "excited". Right before game time, I'm going to get some serious butterflies in my stomach from nerves. I might have to hit the toilet real quick during the pregame show for a nice diharrea.

I'm nervous as hell, too. Watching the Pats-Bengals game should be fun though. I'm looking forward to that more than any other non-Jets game.

I'm nervous only because my Dawgs are losing to the Game****s. If they lose..and by some chance so do the Pats....a potentially great weekend is down the drain.

Now that you bring it up, me too. I'm stressing about the defense, but knock on wood (i just did) the pats will surprise me/us and play pretty stout, and use schemes to put pressure on Palmer. (knock on wood again) crossed my toes and fingers.

Yes I am nervous, only because I don't know what sort of team we have got this year. On paper there are plenty of strengths and weaknesses, which will keep opposing coordinators busy. It really comes down to the character of the team, and that is where my unease lies. I didn't see any fire in the last two pre-season games and I have that tickling feeling in my stomach that if they match last year's away game form we will once again fall short of potential.

But here's hoping for a team that is hungry and passionate about the game, if they bring that to the game the talent will shine through.

I'm starting get that feeling of nervousness and excitement. The opening game is always exciting because we get our first look at the rookies and other new players. Like everyone else, I am anxious to see how the young secondary fares against a very good passing attack. I am hoping BB has designed a scheme what will put pressure on Palmer because if not, it could be a long day.

I think the Pats offense is going to be very explosive season and it is going to have to be.
