What are you looking for from the game on Sunday?

Who cares who they have? This isn't basketball where one or two players is all you need. They had better pass D numbers than we did but comparable run D numbers, and allowed more points.

Also, even with Addai (who had fewer yards per carry than Maroney, who gets crucified here), their rushing attack was third from the BOTTOM in ypc. 3.5 average, more than half a yard less than our "poor" running attack.

Addai is terrible.

The two most important things in the NFL today are these:

Being able to pass effectively.
Being able to stop the pass.

Being able to run/stop the run are WAY down the list. Its a passing league now, whether you like it or not.

1) win
2) no injuries
3) before the game for tom brady to buy a hummer with extra thick steel frame

Keep Brady upright throughout the whole game. I don't want to see a defender within an inch of him. The OL better do their job in making sure this happens.

Also a Liverpool win :)

ooops... wrong game :)

I'm looking forward to seeing how the offence will look after, for the most part, looking good in the pre-season. I would also LOVE to see someone on the defence pick off a pass intended for Owens or Johnson and watch Batman and Robin try to chase him down...:D

I have two goals for this team against the Bengals that I really care about:

1. Win
2. No injuries

That's really it. There's no style points in the NFL. (unless you're down to like the 9th tie-breaker) A win is a win. That's all that really matters.

Of course we'd like to see the Pats go out and dominate. We'd like to see the offense remind us of 2007. We'd like to see the defense get a pass rush and force turnovers. In the end though, it doesn't mean anything. Look at our recent history on opening day:

2002: Win over Steelers 30-14. The defense could be dominant and Donald Hayes is going to be a huge pickup for us.

2003: Loss to Bills 31-0. This team hates their coach, looks like everything is falling apart.

2004: Win over Colts 27-24. Yeah we won but got shredded on the ground for over 200 yards. It might be a problem all season with Ted Washington gone. (finished 6th in the NFL)

2006: Win over Bills 19-17. The first play of our season is a Brady sack, fumble and recovery for a TD. Brady struggles all day and it looks like we just don't have the WRs to go far.

2009: Win over Bills 25-24. We struggle for a lot of the game, Brady looks a bit shaky coming off his injury. But we perform when it matters. One thing I know about this team is that they'll finish games.

Again, how our team performs against the Bengals will obviously affect us somehow, it's the nature of being a fan. But one thing I'm certain of: some things we see will get better as the season goes on and some things we see will get worse. So as long as we can get the W and do it with no one going down, I'll take it and move on to the Jets.

I am looking for the team to play ALL 4 QUARTERS!!!! No more of this run out to a big lead in first half and then not show up in second half. That and no injuries and make it a good competitive outing and I will be happy......Hopefully the D shows up and plays well....or it will be a long day.....

1. a healthy patriots team after the final whistle blows
2. a patriots win by 7 or more
3. all other teams I have on my parlay covering

Offense:

-- Welker 5+ receptions.
-- Tate 2+ receptions.
-- Crumpler 2+ receptions.
-- Moss 170+ yds, 3 touchdowns.
-- Young TEs look like they are where Brady expects them to be.
-- 5+ touchdowns.
-- Solid, near dominant, run game.

Defense:

-- Under 50 cumulative rushing yards for Cincinnati.
-- 2+ forced turnovers.
-- Under 150 cumulative passing yards for Cincinnati.

Special Teams:

-- 30+ yd average KR.
-- 15+ yd average PR.
-- Cincinnati held under 20 yds per KR.
-- Cincinnati held under 2 yds per PR (well, preferably no punting, but just in case).
-- Gost perfect and his leg doesn't fall off with all the extra points and KOs.

^ I'll take some of that, too.

Addai is terrible.

People still seem to think he is the player he was in his rookie season; which he hasn't been.

VERY overrated player!

Wow. You have me dreaming of 2007 all over again!

1. The game to start like the Rams PS game (but not end like it)
2. Gronkage
3. QB pressure from our D
4. A "W"

It's on!

To crush our enemies, see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentation of their women.

That is what i'm looking for.

I'd like to see Brace, Cunningham, Chung, McCourty, Butler, Spikes all play the majority of the snaps and play well.
Wow, when you look at that list thats 6 players drafted in the 1st 2 rounds the last 2 years. Sure our defense has some question marks, but thats an awful lot of potential, especially when the other 5 are Mayo, Wilfork, Meriwhether, TBC, and Wright/Warren.

addai was only half decent his rookie season, and the next two seasons he was even less good

however, this last season, this past season, addai GOT something, and last season he was a really good back, at this point better than maroney, for the first time in their careers

and im a maroney supporter

I don't know what to expect against Cincy with this group, but I'll go on record here predicting we won't even recognize this defense by the last game of the regular season. As they gain experience and grow together, it's going to be like two different animals.

There is a hell of a lot of talent on that side of the ball, that will be given a chance to prove itself.
From a potential standpoint, this may have been a tremendous rebuild.
Of course, it will fall somewhere between 6 failures and 6 guys who live up to their potential, and we simnply dont know yet where on that spectrum it will be.
