I think we'll score more than 20 points against the Bengals D, but hey, to each their own.

Sounds about right... I think were starring at another year with glaring holes that were not addressed in the off season. And teams will exploit em.

This makes me feel better. King is wrong WAY more than he's right in his predictions.

bengals corners are pretty decent so will be a test for our offense.

Odom who is the heart of that Bengals defense is back so that improves them pretty good

Agreed, but it isn't our offense I'm concerned about.

Oh yeah, I'm not saying the Bengals D is bad by any means. I just feel like we have more weapons than last year, and we were able to score plenty then. Even against the Jets #1 ranked D we put up 31 late last year. I see at least 24 points out of this offense in week 1, but if I had to guess I'd say 30+.

27 points allowed could still happen though.

And he actually acknowledges that fact when making his picks, which is something of a rarity.

Yeah ANOTHER one of those years. What do you think, 5-11 maybe?

To predict what the Pats will do is probably more incredibly harder than in any of the previous seasons under Belichick

A few mistakes here and there with some bad luck could send this team to a mediocre 8-8 mark while a few breaks here and there and a little luck as well could bring the team to 10-6 so its a fine line for this team between being mediocre and good IMO (the totally unknown defense is obviously the much bigger head scratcher)

The only way I see 8-8 is if someone else is playing QB. I think this is very much an 8-8 team due to all the questions if Matt Cassell is the QB.
I personally think that the QB we have at 100% (for the first time since 2007) is worth 4-5 wins.

One thing I'd take to the bank; the Pats will score more than 20 points on Sunday. 27 won't be enough to beat them.

Yeah, but the breaks that mean a two game swing in the win and loss columns are there every season, unless you're a dominating team like the Pats were in 07 and 03/04. Look at last year. They were half a yard on "fourth and two" and a bad fourth quarter against the Dolphins away from 12--4; of course, they were also a Leodis McKelvin brainfart and a Mark Clayton drop of a Joe Flacco pass on the numbers inside the ten away from 8--8.

Are you really saying that you're very worried about the D?

Lets see ...Hmmmm We have a starting secondary with a 2nd year player who was erratic in his first season and a rookie on the other side and with backup help that includes Wilhite who was a player burned badly against top flight QBs and WRs last year.

We have a safety tandem of an all pro but with him is a 2nd year man who played sparingly last year and looked good in virtually worthless preseason games so we have to hope he shows it when the real games start.

We have a player on the front line who was not good enough for any team to keep him around long in Warren,Brace who was up and down in 2009 and hoping that Banta Cain will get double digit sacks again or at least rush the passer well and on the other side is castoffs Murrell or Nincovich and a rookie in Cunningham.

Am I worried?....Uh Yeah

I do think we have a fine tandem at ILB but once again do we see the Mayo of 2 years ago and is Spikes ready?

There is a lot of hoping on this defense...and on my behalf,a lot of praying too

TONS of questions on the defense while the only real question on offense I have is will the OL give Brady time to throw.

yeah, but that's my point. you're a lot more concerned than if this were a typical season where a few breaks could mean the difference between 12--4 and 8--8. The logical conclusion of your comment is that you're worried it could be worse.

Who cares? honestly

Always so many threads about what the reporters predictions are. They don't have a higher insight than the rest of us.

This team will have its fair share of losses this season, no doubt about it. I'm predicting 6 losses.

Many will panic but long-time fans understand that the goal is making the playoffs as healthy as possible - at that point quality depth will pay off and it's a whole new season.
