Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Even though I wish Moss would have just kept his mouth shut about this, I doubt the "bad" Randy is back. Moss, at 33, was at pretty much every single practice this offseason. Someone who's checked out completely wouldn't have done that.

I questioned his work ethic and overall approach to football.

And I'm done reading there. Anyone who thinks that a HOF career such as Moss' is lacking in work ethic is delusional and not worth reading.

:agree: This.

If Randy catches 2 TD passes some people will complain about one route he ran that looked lazy. The guy can't catch a break with some people.

Awful, awful journalism.

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

I just can't wait for Thursday and then the Pats game.

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Randy is at a crossroads between a rock and a hard place I believe

On one hand we could see the underperforming Randy of old because he is apparently not happy with the organization as stated or we could see the Randy that we expect to see in a contract year which is a guy that gives his all and he makes sure he gets a lucrative contract next year with a team

Seriously I have no idea what Randy we will see this year.

Although If Randy has a brain he should look at what happened to an underperformer in Adalius Thomas in NE last season that gave NOTHING to his position and how no team wanted his lazy ass anymore.

Anyone who questions his work ethic should watch this video:
DraftNasty.com :: 'Moss feeling the heat'-Part One (Trailer)

And we've heard this every year. We heard it after the trade, after Brady's injury, and after every Moss comment about how he knows he won't get a new contract from New England. Sucks for people who still believe it.

Before you open your mouth like that, you should read exactly what Moss said. If you did, you would realize how much his words have been twisted out of context.

Really, you and most posters here would be so much better off if you could simply understand that the sports media only has one goal, and that is to generate hits for their articles. That's it. They don't care about the welfare of their subjects.

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Freeman has a Moss fixation. I won't provide links but if you must, feel free to Google "Freeman Moss Dogging" and see he pulled this last year. Freeman needs a new gimmick.

Moss has been less of a crybaby about a new contract than Wilfork, Mankins, Seymour, Samuel, Branch and other guys I can't immediatley remember. It's unbelievable the media tries to use his comments to say he's back to being Raider Moss. He has been absolutely nothing other than a great teammate, locker room leader and hard worker in New England. When he was getting 10 yards of seperation from corners in 2008 and Cassel had too much of a noodle arm to get him the ball, he could have easily gone into cancer mode and sabotaged the season. Instead he adjusted his game so Cassel could build chemistry with him and get comfortable. Rarely do things in sports actually piss me off, but the way Moss is treated by the media after 3 years of being everything we could have possibly expected out of him is something that does.

No shyte, if anything the media should be calling out Mankins.

Was Randy's words taken out of context several months ago when he said the Pats will not renew his contract because they will choose not to?...

Its not the first time we heard this and many Pats homers refuse to believe that a player of Randy's stature could actually not be happy in a Pats uniform - there is a possibility you know

its a real world and why not get out there and realize that not every member of the Patriots right now may care to be here until they retire..its all about the money and players these days could give a sh!t whether they are in a Patriots uniform or a Lions uniform as long as the Paycheck is substantial.

There are no longer guarantees you will go deep into the playoffs and win a SB just because you joined NE.. its not 2003 anymore and besides once again as I stated I think more than 60% of players could care less about winning and more about their life after football is over, its all about the benjamins and this is a business - its a shame but its the truth for more than half the league IMO - Randy is one of hundreds who want BIG money and won't be happy until they get what they want, see Logan Mankins for example.

With that being said,If Randy wants mucho dollars in 2011 he won't get it here so he better perform admirably for the other 31 teams in the league to take notice and value his efforts in 2010

Bad Randy is a free agent in 2011.

If Bad Randy dogs it in 2010, Bad Randy does not get paid in 2011.

If Bad Randy dogs it in 2010, and there is a lockout in 2011, then Bad Randy will be totally effed because there's no way he gets paid in 2012.

So Randy can be as bad as he wants to be, but he's a smart enough dude to know how to get paid. I say Bad Randy puts up 1300 yards and 15 TDs, easy.

Nod bad.

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

Randy Moss cares about money, but not as much as winning. Not even close. Moss is a business owner (owns a truck, a couple inta-juices) and isn't lacking in Benjamins. He gave up millions to come play with the Patriots in an attempt to win a ring. He clearly WANTS to be a New England Patriot, or he wouldn't care about the contract situation. Look at how hard he trains in the offseason. He busts his ass for this orginazation.

He is still a beast! The way he runs dragging x lbs of chains behind him... insane. Preseason? Meh.... I'm looking forward to Brady and Moss killing it this year.

As far as the media rabble about his comments, as far as I'm concerned, this is great. The more mediot attention devoted to Moss, who is used to it, the more the young players on this team can concentrate on their job. This just gives Moss more to prove. Thank you al breer, thank you freeman.:rocker:

You really think if NE offers less for Randy's services in 2011 that he would stay on here because he loves being a Patriot?

I would not bet your home and finances on that or might might end up in a homeless shelter and going to a soup kitchen for dinner.

Randy will go where the money is..even if he does not need the money.

Re: Freeman:Bad Randy is back and Patriots will get their taste

I've never been a fan of Moss as a person, but this is ridiculous.

BTW, the next good article Mike Freeman writes, would be his first. The guy is a horrible columnist.

If the money is drastically different, sure, he'll go where the money is.

If the money is close, and a team without a good quarterback offers a little more, you think he's going to take a couple extra million to have Alex Smith or Matt Moore or Tavaris Jackson, etc throw to him instead of Brady?

Not every decision to stay in NE is about some extremist idea of Patriots loyalty. Sometimes it just makes the most sense for a player for a number of reasons (home life, teammates, money, winning, and/or role).
