OT: Houshmandzadeh signs for Ravens

Hmm, collecting receivers, eh? Not a bad idea with their secondary the way it is.

He's not a terrible fit in Baltimore, though I'm not sure he compliments Boldin so much as duplicates his efforts a bit.

Wow, looks like a great low-risk pickup for the Ravens. Boldin and Housh could be a formidable tandem.

Good signing by them. Little risk for them, at this point. Interesting to see what they will do when Stallworth is ready to play.

The addition of TJ just made the team's receivers better; which adds pressure on the D they will play!

Do they cover the run more or the pass? Could turn into a good all round offence.

Am I tripping? I thought he signed with the Vikes?

Fills the Stallworth role?

No he's not a deep threat like Stallworth but should takeover or split time with Clayton for the third receiver spot. They now have the ultimate possession receiver receiving core :D, I'm looking forward to their week one game.

This was an area of weakness for the Ravens that has suddenly become a position of strength.

he sucks, if he was still good the bengals would have kept him. the bengals upgraded their WR by getting rid of him. the ravens need TE, not WR.

How come he was so cheap?

This guy was cut by a Seattle team with no WRs.

Because Seattle still owed him 7 million, and when they cut him they were still on the hook for it. So whatever contract another team signed him for the Seahawks had to foot the bill for whatever was left of the 7 million. So he is still making a lot this year - just not from the Ravens. I believe that is how it ended up working out, someone correct me if I'm wrong. Smart move by the Ravens.

That was reported, but it was just a false rumor.

Ravens having quickly gone from a team with below average receivers to a very good group at that position. They've added Houshmandzadeh and Boldin, still have Derrick Mason, and Mark Clayton too. Donte Stallworth signed with them too but if I'm not mistaken he's injured, isn't he?

The Haws money I was aware of but what keeps him from asking for more? I am pretty sure he's good enough to get a lot more than he's getting with the Ravens.

No matter how much the Ravens give him, he's still going to get $7 million total between the two teams. If Baltimore pays him $3, Seattle has to give him $4; if Baltimore pays him $5 then Seattle has to give him $2, etc. The only exception would be if the Ravens (or any other teams) were going to give him more than $7 million to play this year.

Potential low risk, high reward situation for the Ravens here. Combined with that running game, that offense could be tough to stop. Good thing we apparently still get them with their secondary in shambles.

well i suppose a dropped pass wont account for us beating them this time around...well actually have to go out and beat them for good this time

Won't be splitting time with Clayton, Schefter reported he has been traded to the Rams.

I don't think the Bengals didn't resign him because he was bad; it was because he would have cost too much!
