Where the Patriots still have the Jets - Extra Points - Boston.com

[quoteSo if you're going to hang your hat on anything going into Week 2, those would be the big things.[/quote]
"hang your hat on"
-just a hilarious article by breer who is as usual is happy that his jets are making headlines and trying to make a +ve spin even before the season began. I seriously hope that pats and other teams werent counting on revis sitting all yr out to think they had a chance like breer is .

Is that Breer, the Patriots beat writer twittering Cromartie congratulating him and telling him they are the best corners in the NFL? For real?

Belichick over Ryan? What a no brainer. Anyone watching Hard Knocks can see Ryan is closer to Herm Edwards than Bill Belichick. The second I saw McDonalds cheeseburgers on the practice field, I knew the inmates were running the assylum. The more I watch, I wonder if Schottenheimer and Sutton are doing all the work and Ryan is just there to be cheerleader and team motivator.

Pretty bold by Breer there, conceding the Pats having an edge at coach and QB. ANd he even cites other sources to back him up.

Did I only imagine the second game against the Jets last year where a lesser Pats offense and a not-yet-100% Brady torched a defense that was slightly better (Sheppard>Cromartie) than it is now?

Pretty sure the Pats receivers are better, too.

I think I know what Breer was looking to do with that 'article'. I just think it was a poor effort.

No, that's what most of twitter consists of...retweeting someone else's twit...in this case Cromartie welcoming back the guy he hopes will carry him back to relevance...

And for the record Bert has never been a beat reporter for any team... He's a former blogger turned NFL columnist.

Somehow I am happy that I didnt know either of those things.

I could swear he was a Boston Herald beat reporter in Foxborough for two years before landing the job with the Dallas Morning News. Subsequently he went to TSN and now he's at the Globe.

Cromartie is better than Sheppard, don't kid yourself.

Anyways, the Pats are going to win the division because of BB and Brady but it isn't going to be easy because of their atrocious defense. I won't be shocked if Palmer and Sanchez light them up the first two weeks of the season.

You think Sanchez is going to do much more than hand the ball off to Greene/LT? If the defense plays as well as it did in St. Louis, that's all he'll have to do. :(

More athletic? No doubt.

Better? Only in like 2007. Maybe.

Sheppard is smarter, more disciplined, better in coverage, and a far better leader. Cromartie had one great season. Sheppard's had a great career.

Edited to add: I can't believe I forgot to mention how unbelievably bad a tackler Cromartie is.
