I know there are a lot of people here who are Pats fans living outside of New England, that find this forum as their best connection to what is going on with the favorite football team. Just thought I would mention a couple of columns by Pats fans that have just written about their experiences of being a Pats fan far away from Foxboro.

So what experiencers do other out of towners have?

This is my first season outside the comfort zone of Patriots banners, license plates and window clings. I am in Tennessee with my Connecticut plates (in Patriots trim) wearing my Patriots hat and still showing every ounce of Patriots pride around these Titans folks. My love for football is strong and the Patriots are my passion, so do not let the girly-girl image fool you. I can wear heels with my Wes Welker jersey if I want to!

Anyway, it was funny to be a Patriot fan… because I didn’t know any other Patriot fans. As I mentioned at the start, teams like Dallas or Pittsburgh have most of the attention in Mexico, while New England barely had a presence on TV or in the newspapers. But that was ok for me. That made me different. I wasn’t just a member of the Troy Aikman bandwagon or another Steeler-wannabe who rooted for them because they had four rings from 20 years before. I had made my own choice and I was proud of it.
