The Rap Sheet is now the go-to Pats Blog. This guy is outworking the competition. He has broken most of the mini-scoops this pre season, i.e. injuries, cuts etc.. When he first started at the Herald, I was put off by the quirky prose style, the personal marratives etc. But I really appreciate the hustle. He is covering a beat as a journalist should IMO.

I wouldn't say he's the go-to blog guy, but he's having a great day. Reiss is surprisingly quiet - -I think he tends to be more of a front office contact guy, where Rapoport comes across as friendly with players. Globe folks are dead quiet; Breer seems intent on being a national guy.

Rapoport is pitching a perfect game, pounding the strike zone. Whoops, wrong sport, but you get the idea. :D

To appease the football gods, you must do a lap around Rex Ryan. :snob:

Ian has been a great addition, he usually gets stuff posted before Reiss but Reiss is always the unofficial official word.

Umm.. Reiss is reporting stuff via Twitter.. As is Chris Price and Rappaport.I don't consider Rappaport the "Go To" guy since he's been wrong about several things of late and jumped the gun on the Chris Taylor getting cut story.

I haven't been that impressed with Rappaport and he's still not in the league with Mike Reiss..

Rap just reported the Reiss said that Clayton was cut. So now he is "crushing' Reiss.:D

Ian is still the first with stuff like the training camp updates.

I disagree there. It went back and forth between all the writers..

People choose to believe what they want, whether it's reality or not.

Whatever, man, Ian has been a great addition. Like who you want, I don't care, the fact remains we're better off with Ian here. Ian was always first with his camp reports though.

No, he wasn't. Whether or not you want to believe it, he wasn't always the first with Camp Reports.

BTW, where did I say that the fans weren't better off with him.. Hell, a brick wall reporting would be better than Tomase or Borges..

This is getting as bad as the argument about which thread to post cuts.

Not into the inner workings of this board, are Ian from this board and Rappaport one in the same?

PF73 is having a grumpy gills day.

Umm.. No he's not. PF73 is doing quite well today. It seems that OTHER PEOPLE are the ones having issues.. Just like in the other thread.

Seriously, people, take a chill..

And while BBFan has his OPINION, it disagrees with the facts..And the fact is that there were times that other writers had their Camps posts up prior to Rappaprt. And Rappaport had several of his tweets up today that were just re-tweets of other people.. That's life.. It happens..

No.. Ian Logue is the one who owns this board. Ian Rappaport is the latest Pats Beat Writer for the Herald..

Regardless of whether or not, or how often he is the first to report something, Rapoport is a vast improvement over his predecessor at the Herald. For the first time that I can ever remember the Herald is in my opinion doing a better job of following and reporting on the Patriots, and it is primarily, if not solely due to the job Rapoport is doing.

As for reporting that Chris Taylor was cut, I can't find any fault in his making that public. Taylor's agent told him that was the case, and apparently at that time the Patriots had told taylor just that. I wouldn't blame him for something out of his control (i.e., the Pats changing their mind.)

Whether or not Rapoport is the best of the Pats' beat writers is open for debate; everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Mike Reiss is obviously very popular. Erik Scalavino and Andy Hart at Patriots Football Weekly do a great job with their blog, especially during training camp; they may be the most under rated and under appreciated of all columnists that follow the Pats. Christopher Price at WEEI does a really good job too, and probably deserves more followers as well. Jeff Howe at NESN is worth checking out too, and though I'm sure I'll get some angry responses for this suggestion, CSNNE's Tom Curran has had some decent articles.
