We have done this for the past 2 or 3 or 4 years. WE have had people predicting 16-0 and that's fine but try to be realistic.

I have not included 16-0, 15-1, or even 14-2. Even in Homerville those records are considered pie in the sky. Also I didn't include anything less that 8-8 and probably should not have included that as the thought of less than 8-8 brought my breakfast up.

If you want to vote for "other" please be specific so we can all have a good laugh.

LOL - I would have picked 19-0........I am the resident president of homerville patriots express.

I'm going with 11-5. If one of those victories is against the Colts then I think that will be good enough for a bye and a second round game at home.

SD has the weaker schedule in the weaker conference so I expect them to be 13-3 or 12-4. They will lose at home in the playoffs, so we may even get the AFCCG at Gillette.

Even though I want to go with 11-5, I picked 12-4 just because that's the record that I predicted in the roundtable thread.

I went 9-7. Tough schedule and the young defense does not look ready. If some of those young defenders develop quickly, then I'd go 10-6 or even 11-5. I hope I'm wrong about 9-7.

Yeah, the defense is extremely young and is going to have to go through some trials and tribulations this season. But the offense should be able to carry us through their fair share of games. In all, this team could end up being like the 2004 Colts, all offense. OR, they could surprise all of us and play more aggressively than we're all expecting. That's why they play the games.

D is uncertain. But I hope TFB and co can create such a high scoring offence, that other teams struggle to be able to reach it.

So for me 11-5.

I'd been thinking 11-5 or even 12-4 at times, but our defense is scaring me so I'm going to say 10-6 right now.

I am legitimetly picking 14-2 I just think Brady is going to be back to top form (35-40 TDs)
Moss and LM will want to prove themselves and the D is going to be way better then most people are predicting.

so 14-2

Just out of curiosity, who do you see the two losses coming against?

Since the pats won the SB in 2001/2002 I have had high hopes at the start of every season. This year I have lowered my expectations quite a bit. I picked 9-7 but would not be surprised if they finished 8-8 or 10-6 for that matter.

I think the offense is fine but the defense is not. Whatever it is: either the defense cannot put enough pressure on the QB to make bad passes, or the secondary simply cover anybody I see teams passing on the pats all game long.

I know it was just preseason but it is a little cause for concern when the pats defense cannot cover a the rams rookie quarterback, rams second string offense and letting Manning go 7-9 passing with a TD. I don't where the improvement on defense is going to come from.

10-6. There's still to many questions on the defense, offensive line and execution of play calling for mine.

I'm hoping they can be 5-3 at the halfway point and I think the second half they're going to gain momentum. I picked 12-4 with them going 7-1 the second half but I wouldn't be shocked to see them 4-4 at the halfway point and end up with 10 or 11 wins. If they could ever run those first four games with three in the division and the tough two division games on the road they'll really set themselves up well.

The Chargers (rough game versus the ravens then the long trip does them in) and the Dolphins late in the year

I went with 10-6 for now. The defense will be better than expected and the offense will be slightly worse than expected. I think our running game is going to be weak if we lose Fred Taylor and Morris, which we likely will at some point.

The passing game should be much better than 2009. I expect Brady to throw for 4000+ yards and between 30 and 40 touchdowns. I have not seen Tate do a whole lot as a receiver yet, but that may not mean anything. I certainly see Edelman as the better #3 option at this point.

My overall feelings about the 2010 season:

- Fans are overconfident about our offense. I think Brady will be the best QB in the league this year as far as ability goes, but he is counting on a ton of young players and a fairly new oline that seems to really struggle with run blocking against big defensive lines.

I see a lot of spread offense coming back as the RBs struggle to find holes at times throughout the year. It would help a lot if we could count on Fred Taylor being healthy for 16 games. But at the moment, it seems to me that the spread plays much more to this team's strength than the running game. Other than the TEs, who will make a big contribution in 2010, I think BB's goal to become a physical offense is still a pipe dream at this point.

- We are way too pessimistic about the defense. I never liked Butler as much as so many people did last year, but I think he can still be a solid #2 corner. McCourty and Spikes are the real deal. I see this defense picking up steam as the younger guys adapt to the NFL.

I am slightly worried about Mayo's continued difficulty with reading plays. If this is a real problem, and doesn't have something to do with the preseason, I expect the team to switch to a simpler scheme again and let these young guys be aggressive. Still, they should be a top 10 unit by the end of the year.

There is no one left to impress on this side of the ball, except for Wilfork, so young guys like Chung, Mayo, and Spikes should feel more comfortable stepping into a vocal role as they make more and more plays throughout the season.

- The special teams is going to be one of the best units in the NFL. They looked very, very good this preseason. It's clear that BB made a commitment to improving the field position game, and so far he has succeeded with flying colors. Kyle Arrington looks like a "special" special teams guy to my untrained eye.

Until they find a pass rush, the defense is going to have huge growing pains... but 10 wins will win this division... Im goin 10-6...

Well, it appears that my football hopes and dreams for 2010 are now pinned to this team. The Gators look absolutely HORRIBLE right now.

16-0! And this time we win the superbowl!

Go Patriots.

I am disapointed the poll includes 8-8, but doesn't go any higher than 13-3. When was the last time this team has less than 10 wins? When was the last time this team had more than 15? 'nough said!

I picked 9-7.

Young, shaky defense + tough schedule = average football team. :(

We have to include "the sky is falling" crowd as well as the "pie in the sky" crowd.:D
