McKenzie stays. That's just silly. I expect Alexander wil finally hit the road, but I wouldn't be suprised if Green-Ellis is the odd man out.
Brown is PS material. Arrington and McCourty can play gunner, as can Price, if need be. Brown won't get picked up elsewhere, and he can develop and serve as depth, if somebody gets IR'd during the season.
Wheatley's injury could put him on IR or get him cut with hopes of a PS landing, but I would be sad to see him go. Depends on how much manpower Bill thinks we'll have in the secondary for week 1. Bodden, Butler, McCourty, Chung, Merriweather, and Sanders could be the dime unit against Cinci's revamped receiving corps, but somebody needs to provide depth. Wheatley, Arrington, and McGowan are all out with injuries at the moment. Until one of them gets onto the field, Wilhite is looking like the guy who gets the job. (Even if Arrington get back, Wilhite is on the inside track for a job in week 1.) That's just the way it works. Get on the field, get in position, make plays - in that order. That's the job description. Wheatley has looked good, but he's not doing his job at the moment.
Murrell is an interesting case. He looks passable at OLB and can play ST. He got Alexander's reps last week. Still, one or two linebackers need to go. We won't carry 11 (counting Burgess). This will be the most interesting position come next Saturday.
Larsen is a reach. He's got potential, but he's a game day inactive for a while. More than one prospect has to get exposed to waivers, whether it's him, Deaderick, Bussey, or Wheatley. I'm 50:50 on whether Larsen or OBurger is the 9th OL on the 53. OBurger is better now, but maybe Dante likes Larsen more over the long haul. Stashing a prospect here means less depth at DB and/or cutting a ST regular.
Of course, the last cut will wait until after week 1, when Ojinnaka's suspension has been served. That may give another week for Wheatley to heal up, or for Bill to work out a trade of an excess LB or OL.
