Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

Coming back from a broken foot in just a month?

I'll take "Decisions that end professional athletes' careers" for $1000, Alex.

LOL. I, too, would be shocked if Pace was back by Week 2. I'm not even sure if that would be a full month at that point. I think 2 months if more the norm for recovery time, no?

No kidding. Rex is so full of you know what it oozes. This is a 4-6 week injury under the best of circumstances. I think they're trying to leverage AD...which would put Pace cleared to practice on a football field for the first time in a month, as opposed to rehabbing, by week 2 best case scenario...

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

Tangenius doesn't want A.T.

Rex does..there was mention of this friction a couple of days ago in the NY press

could be a face saving maneuver...just my opinion

but you can't put anything past that dog and pony show down there

If Pace came back Week 2, that would put him 1 day short of a 3 week recovery....NO FREAKIN WAY!!

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

I immediately thought Pedroia,too.

maybe Pace is superhuman...

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

C'mon guys!!! He's a JET! He heals faster than a regular human being!!

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

I thought this was an attempt to leverage Thomas as well, in which case, I think we can assume that the real reason he hasn't been picked up yet is because his asking price is too high. If he were willing to take a pay cut, I'm not so sure the Jets would be playing the mind games right now.

Wes Welker says there is only one superhuman.

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

I think Ryan has a lot of wishful thinking if he thinks Pace will be back by week 3. I guess crazier things has happened, but I wouldn't rush my top pass rusher back too quick and risk him reinjuring the foot and missing a larger chunk of the season.

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

Pedroia was out almost 2 months. He broke the navicular bone (top of foot) and did not have surgery. Pedroia himself said he could be out a couple of weeks or 6 weeks.

We don't know how severe Pace's injury is. A helmet hit is foot. He had the pin put in. Could be 2 weeks. Could be longer. Who knows.

I do agree that with feet, being conservative is appropriate.

I don't buy the notion that the Sox FORCED him back. Their medical staff may suck (see Ellsbury), but I don't think that they gave him an ultimatum and pushed him hard to get back out on the field.

Maybe even Rex knows they're going to be 0-2 to start the season :D

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

bear with me....

imaginary scenario.....Pace is back and on the field after only three weeks!!...and here's the snap....RB sweeps end behind pulling guard...Pace in a pack of players in on the tackle...300 pound+ guard lands on Pace's foot with the point of his elbow...the pile unravels...O guard gets up off Pace while using his hand to push off Pace's foot with all his weight, twisting it as he untangles from the pile....oh wait!!!!...why is Pace holding his foot and writhing in pain????...

he better have Kevlar wrap on that foot if he comes back this soon...JMO

OT: Getting the feeling that the Jets are going to be VERY average this year going 8-8.

Re: No Adalius for Jets ?

The Jets don't want to sign Tita before Week 1 because he'd then be guaranteed 800k.

Thank you! I was just thinking that there were not enough Jets threads on this board!

Even if Pace is back how could the Jests not sign AT for week 2? It would stir the media into a frenzy that the Jets thrive on. He can't still be asking for too much money at this point.

Good point. It's not as if Thomas is a former Patriot, or as if this could impact the Patriots in week 2, or anything like that...
