Warren and Weston are on the IR. Josh Barrett is expected to join them soon.

There are other several players who are injured. Any of them might see the IR list. I don't list Meriweather, Edleman or Brace since I think they would have a ropster spot even if they will not be available for a few weeks.

Kaczur
Lockett
Slater
Cunningham
Wheatley

Also, many folks are expecting Price to develop a serious hangnail that needs surgery.

i think Kaczur, will end up on IR

this bord will go nuts if the pats put Cunningham, on IR lol

Wes...Welker? Did I miss something? Why would he be put on IR?

I don't see the value in IRing Price. There's going to be 8 inactives on any given Sunday anyway, he might as well be one of them. He offers some depth on punt/kick returns at the very least at this point. And really - all it would take is an injury to Moss before you might regret red-shirting him.

I wouldn't want to see Price IR'd either, I know it would save someone else a roster spot but how is a guy suppose to get better if he can't practice with the team?

I think Lockett gets put on IR. Weston is already on the IR along with Ty Warren. Josh Barrett will end up there too tomorrow.

Kaczur and Cunningham get roster spots and time to heal.

Slater and Wheatley get cut. Slater has very little use as a returner now that there are multiple options for that role. (Tate, Edleman, Price, Welker, McCourty) Wheatley may clear waivers since he is hurt and could make the PS.

Cunningham was seen at practice last week (not practicing, but with the injured guys). That usually means that the player is close to return to practice. Guys with serious injuries are not anywhere near the field. I doubt he will get IRed although he is way behind where we would have wished him to be because he could have a significant role in the pass rush.

Personally, I won't rest easy until the 31st comes and goes without an announcement of any key young players on IR. We really can't have any clue how serious the injuries to Cunningham, Edelman etc. are until they could hit IR without being waived.

But as for Price...sounds like it's time for my annual campaign against the myth of "stashing" healthy rookies on injured reserve. It just doesn't happen. Price in particular is a physically talented player who came from a crummy college program and has a ton to learn. Spending the next year not being allowed to practice would be devastating to his development. How can that be good for the team?

Kaczur most definately will take the year off

The biggest question on this team is what will become of Wheatley? - I think he is either cut or put on IR and nothing in between.

Cunningham could see the PUP list and be back in limited action a few months down the road

Funny, Wheatley's on my 53, go figure.

Unfortunately Cunningham isn't PUP eligible.

Does anyone even know the severity of Wheatley's injury?

Unless he's suffering massive internal trauma, I'd keep him over Wilhite because, after much thought and observation, I've come to the sad and ineluctable conclusion that Wilhite just sucks total ass.

I agree with keeping Wheatley over Wilhite. Wilhite is supposed to be good at covering opposing WR's in the slot. So far this preseason I have not seen this from him.

Depending on his injury; I think Wheatley has a better chance than Wilhite on being on the 53 :)

Wilhite = Hobbs Redux :rolleyes:

Hobbs is/was a better player than we should expect Wilhite to ever be. I don't think that Wilhite has a very high ceiling. Wheatley's is much higher.
