Gee, what a surprise. Pereira, talking with Aikman and Buck on FOX, says the new rule is not working right and there definitely needs to be some tweaking to it. Aikman agrees there needs to be a change and that this new rule just wasn't very well thought out.

Which is exactly what I've been saying all along, much to the chagrin of many in this board. :rocker: :rocker:

I am not exactly sure what you are asking me, so if you will please rephrase I will be glad to answer it.

If you really don't know WTF I am talking about, I am not sure how I can be of further assistance. It is been a major topic of discussion during the preseason, and was addressed during tonight's Broncos-Steelers game, where Pereira, Buck and Aikman all pretty echoed the points I have been making word for word.

It seems the only people who like the new rule are those who are blinded by their obsessive hatred of all things Indianapolis. I may hate the Colts, but I am able to evaluate and form opinions based on how it impacts overall gameplay, independent of how it affects specific teams.

YOU just posted "many (Patriot fans at this site) did you not?

there's 13, 561 ,members of Patsfans.com

I'll be generous and say 20 % are not Pats fans

That leaves over 10,000 Pats fans here of which over 50%, if YOU are to be believed, do not care about the new rule. That would mean well over 5000 members fit YOUR stated parameters. Name five you freakin' psychopath.

Except Pereira was ballwashing. I particularly loved the crap about how the QB shouldn't have to look..... when Manning was snapping the ball with the official in front of him and to the left.

It was nothing more than a Manning rumpswabbing.

Also, as expected, the time difference is less than 3 seconds. It's 1-1.5 seconds, if that.

That game was 3 hrs and 10 min long. It was hard to maintain interest even though the Steelers were getting trashed.

Name five you freakin' psychopath.

The decline of Patsfans in a sentence. When in doubt about responding to an issue, start a pissing contest.

then YOU name five, wiseguy...it's not a pi$$ing contest, he's weilding a broad paint brush without reason.

Didn't hear the exchange. What official are you referring to? The Umpire? The Umpire should only be on the defensive side under two minutes. As I understand it, the Umpire behind the QB is the basis for the flags thrown so far.

Now I'm a wiseguy? You called the poster a "freakin' psychopath."

If you read the locked thread where he goes off in about fifty posts re: this non issue, YOU would run to the doc for Haldol to maintain your sanity.

Wolfpack is complaining about the new rule, because he thinks that Peyton Manning having to wait an extra moment before snapping the ball is unfair to Mr. Manning. He brought up Pereira's comments as an "ah ha!" moment, but he apparently didn't actually watch the videos or listen to the entire segment. The 'tweaks' being mentioned did not include the official going back to the defensive side. They were about how far back the official should be behind the QB before the snap could happen, and about the possibility of an audible whistle.

Of course, in the prime example they used for the segment, the 'tweaks' wouldn't have made a bit of difference.

Joker,

I read that thread. In between a lot of "I'm better than you" the talk about issue gets lost. People pretend to talk about an issue when they like being angry internet posters.

In this case, he returns to his point. He does throw in the "many posters" or whatever, but he is primarily bringing up his side of the issue. I see his point and I see where others are coming from.

The other thread was brought down by "freakin' psychopath" type of posts.

It's just something that comes back here. Even a tame topic like is Derrick Burgess a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLD turns into personal attacks. I don't get it.

Firstly, I'd re-word your characterization of his view, but ok.

I was referring to your comment about Manning seeing the "official" in front of him. I didn't understand that part, since the focal point of this issue is the umpire behind the backfield.

Put it this way....I'm a Pats fan...I don't particularly like the new positioning...I have a large family, all Pats fans...nobody fits this guy's description of "most Pats fans". Since the Spygate rubbish, I, as a Pats fan, have gone from bewildered to just plain combative when some fan of another team paints me or any other Pats in a corner, which is EXACTLY what he did repeatedly...or did you miss "why is it that only Pats fans don't care???? why????" over and over and over and over. Did you NOT get what he was driving at?

Why would you re-word it? My words:

he thinks that Peyton Manning having to wait an extra moment before snapping the ball is unfair to Mr. Manning.

His words:

Call me crazy, but I think the Colts have a point. If a team wants to run the hurry up, they should be able to do so - and the officiating should not constantly be slowing them down.

It was about the umpire. My point in response to the O.P. is that the Manning was snapping the ball when he KNEW the umpire wasn't in position, because it wasn't a situation where Manning couldn't see the umpire. It wouldn't even have been covered by the 'tweaks' proposed during the segment.

Maybe my filter passes it by as I ignore all <insert team> fans <insert word>.

I apologize for calling you a wiseguy...but I was thinking of "poached" instead of hardboiled a few minutes ago...:D
