Adalius Thomas-LB- Patriots Aug. 29 - 2:53 pm et

Manish Mehta of the NY Daily News reports that the Jets are "likely" to sign free agent Adalius Thomas.
Calvin Pace's multiple-week foot injury makes it a better fit. Thomas can play both inside and outside linebacker, though his pass rush skills have diminished greatly. The 33-year-old might be able to help stop the run.

This isn't too surprising, as many on this board sorta predicted it would happen, especially after the loss of Pace.

Man, what great news! Can you imagine how dysfunctional he'll be with all of those nutbags?? Just sit back and enjoy the show...

Re: OT:Jets are "likely" to sign free agent Adalius Thomas.

His skills have diminished, but his swagger is close to 100%, so he should be fine with the Jets.

Edited to add: Dear God, please let Madden '12 have a "Swagger" rating.

Awesome!

Looking foward to a bunch of posters/Jets fans telling us how Rex Ryan will make him a great player once again and how Vernon Gholston is going to turn out to be an elite player.

Madden 11 has it, lol. But I'm sure you know that based on your post.

The only way the Jets could acquire a OLB that would scare me is if that OLB came from Pittsburgh or if it was Demarcus Ware.

I just wish we had Mankins on hand to pile-drive Mr. ToesInTheAir to the turf and leave nothing but a grease spot behind. Maybe Vollmer can pancake that sunuvabeatch. Just one more reason to hate the Green Beans ... as if we needed another.

Actually, I didn't; I haven't played Madden in 3 years. How does that rating affect a player?

determines how often a player celebrates but i heard its pretty broken(like alot of stuff in the game:p)

Re: OT:Jets are "likely" to sign free agent Adalius Thomas.

By the way, going forward I think we should refer to Thomas as Tita (toes in the air).

Adding THomas's attitude to the Jets.......Subtraction by addition.

Actually, no. Swagger determines how consistent a player is in clutch situations like 4th down or late in the game.

Though he's not nearly what he used to be, I suspect that he'll be a better fit in their defense than he was in our's.

Apparently Rex Ryan no longer thinks the Jets will be the best defense in the NFL with or without him.

I hope. Adalius is a locker room cancer.

Yet another reason to despise the Jest. :bricks:

Will be interesting to see if they sign him what they sign him for. He won't play for vet minimum, and if they only want him as a fill in for Pace they won't want to sign him to a substantial contract until after week 1, when his contract won't be guaranteed, which may disrespect him. I bet Rex is hip deep in trying to BS him into thinking he didn't really telegraph to the rest of the league he thought he was finished...

Personally I hope they give him a couple of million of Revis money...

I read yesterday from one of the media guys (might have been Mort, King or Schefter) that Thomas actually doesn't want to play for the Jets. He turned them down. He's considering not playing anymore as well.

This. When put in a situation where he has to take on a tackle every time he rushes the passer, he'll struggle. He just doesn't have the pass-rushing moves to consistently beat a man. When given a hole, though, like he was in Baltimore and probably will be for the Jets, he has the athleticism to get through that hole. I believe it was Daniel Jeremiah (former scout who twittered and had podcasts leading up to the draft, then hired by Eagles) who called him a blitzer, not a pass-rusher. The reason he brought it up, of course, was to say that Sergio Kindle was a blitzer and not a pass-rusher. Just thought I'd throw that out there ;)
