Is this really going to be the team this year? Because I think Gus Johnson sucks!

Where is Nantz, I hope this is a temporary preseason deal. Anyone know the details?

Edit: What dumbass voted on a OT thread asking a question? Please come out of the wood work. Hell at least leave your opinion. An anonymous vote on an OT thread, really?

I'm pretty sure Jim Nantz is doing the Barclays golf tournament right now, so he is busy.

Nantz is CBS' lead golf guy too. He's likely covering the PGA event. Check tomorrow at about 2:00.

Gus Johnson is great , but relax Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are doing are first 2 games this year... Nantz and Simms are the best brodcast duo..

I don't know, he gets to excited over seemingly every play. There are worse no doubt, but I really like Nantz and Simms. I think Nantz and Simms are the best around these days, not exactly Summerall and Madden but very good none the less.

Summerall and Madden were entertaining but not nearly as informative as Nantz and Simms.

CBS, which has the rights to AFC games, has eight pairs of broadcast teams. The Pats are a good team, extremely familiar to even casual fans, and always get good ratings nationwide. The Pats will almost always get one of the top broadcast teams as their games will usually be one of the networks higher rated games, often broadcast in other markets.

Here are the CBS broadcast teams for this year:

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms
Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf
Ian Eagle and Dan Fouts
Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots
Gus Johnson and Steve Tasker
Bill Macatee and Rich Gannon
Don Criqui and Steve Beuerlein
Spero Dedes and Randy Cross

The top FOX pairings are Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, and then Kenny Albert with Daryl Johnston. There's only one Pats games on FOX this year, and that is the game against the Vikings. I'm sure FOX will have Buck and Aikman calling that game.
