I rarely watch the show as well..and I just happened to have put it on and seen him as well. UGH!!! I wanted to puke...and that was before the smug hole said anything. What a worthless piece of trash he is...never liked him at all..HATED him more when I learned of his Oakland connection along with thugs Tatum and Atkinson and the like. YUK!!!! What is embarrassing is that HE is the writer from Boston/New England for the Football HOF. THAT is scary. Must have some old Poloroids or something. I really doubt I will watch that show for awhile...like M=Asszz and Fallger in teh PM ..can't really take too much of them either.

Did anyone see it? I have never seen him be a bigger douche...and that's saying something. His hatred of BB is so strong. He was disgusted by the press conference calling BB a 4 yr old, the secondary is awful, etc. etc. Tanguay to his credit, actually called him out on it. God I can't stand Borges and his smug attitude. "If BB gets the credit when they win how come we blame the players when they lose...its got to BB." Sorry for the rant.

I'll see your disgust and raise you a vomit.
God what an awful person that Ron Bilious is. I must say, Tanguay acquitted himself pretty well.
If it weren't for BB, half these dimwits wouldn't have jobs.

Borges used to be a football writer for the Globe until it was revealed that he plagerized parts of an article. He has always been the most negative person in Boston sports and hates BB because he used to ask these negative questions at the Press Conference after the game and Belichick got sick of it and blasted him.

I had forgotten that he is the representative for the Patriots for Hall of Fame voting. Unfortunately he will probably still be there when it comes time to vote on certain Patriots of the past decade's teams - including Belichick.

Selection Process
With the exception of the PFWA representative who is appointed for a two-year term, all appointments are of the open-end variety and can be terminated only by retirement or resignation, as long as the member continues to attend meetings regularly.

There is no mandatory retirement period for a contributor.

One interesting note about the nomination process:
Any fan may nominate any qualified person who has been connected with pro football in any capacity simply by writing to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The only restriction is that a player and coach must have last played or coached at least five seasons before he can be considered.

Hall of Famers: Selection Process FAQ

I seem to recall reading somewhere that the way the process in reality works, the representative from a team makes his case for a player to other members, and then the field is narrowed down. What that results in is that (a) the stronger personalities tend to have more of a say and newer members have little influence, even though they all have the same single vote; and (b) the local sportswriter's voice has a very large impact on a player getting into the Hall of Fame. On one hand he can make the nominee look great, but on the other hand if he is indifferent about a player his chances are doomed.

There is always the hope that in a few years he retires from the position and gives they give his slot to an actual beat writer like say...Mike Reiss.

Yeah, but I have a feeling Borges will hang on for as long as possible for the sole purpose of still being there to lead the vote against Belichick when the day comes that he is eligible for the HoF.

I'm curious how Borges got to keep his HoF vote given that there was about a year and a half or two years between when he "left the Globe to pursue other interests" and the Herald hired him. Apparently you don't even have to be employed as a sports writer or have any media credentials, but you can still keep your seat on the HoF voting?

First, giving Borges any mention here on this board serves his purpose.

Second, there are suppose to be 3 Patriots related shows on back to back, I believe starting 9/9/10 on CCSNE. One is the Patriots Football Weekly show.

Third, what is the name of the TD song that they play in Gillette? I still would rather have the Glitter song even though the guy is a perv. The song is bigger than he is and other NFL teams are still using it..

.

Before I joined Patsfans, I was a regular on the ESPN message board.
On a Sunday night in 2007 a 20 year old college student alerted the Patriots
ESPN message board that Borges stole information (word for word)
from a Mike Sando story.

A few of us started alerting the media.
Florio broke the story a couple hours later (after being notified) and
Borges ended up getting FIRED from the Globe.

I did not break the Story, but I am glad I helped.
I actually made an artile that SeattleStatMan wrote on the story.
Well... I did not make the artile... my id - cupofjoe1962 made the artile
along with 3 other users who helped alert the media.

That's just it, you have the seat for life or until you retire or resign.

He should have been forced to resign after the plagarism situation but they didn't do it because he is set for life there.
