But what am I missing? Everyone knows that the Pats poor play on defense last season can be directly linked to the lack of a pass rush yet he did nothing to address it. If Jerry Hughes turns out to be good, I'm going to be pissed. Do you think once the regular season starts, exotic blitz packages used far more often will be employed to hide the weakness. It seemed to work a little against the Saints. Without some kind of pressure, I don't see more than 9 wins. Color me concerned.

Hughes is one of the worst possible fits for the Pats' scheme.

Because you can't just throw any old pass rusher back there and expect it to work. 3-4 OLBs need to be able to hold their ground against offensive tackles and contain the run. Those guys are hard to find.

Look at:
Willie McGinest - Height: 6-5 Weight: 270
Mike Vrabel - Height: 6-4 Weight: 261 lbs.

You mean the scheme that makes average QB's look like Pro Bowlers?

On the basis of this post, I've known phone-booths who have forgotten more than you'll ever know.

Yep a first ballod hall of fame coach has "forgotten" more about football than you know. I agree.

Read the title that you wrote again. I think Bill knows what he's doing.

Hey Nancy boy, keep your relationships with phone booths to yourself. What would be more interesting is if you gave your views on what the Patriots can do to improve there pass rush.

Just because you begin your post with "Everybody knows" doesnt make it true. The Pats defense as a whole played poorly and this can be linked to a multitude of things including a lack of effort and mental errors. While the pass rush is not the pats biggest strength to make the claim that it was soley responsible for the pats failure is oversimplifying the situation.

BB has forgot more about football than you know........ Yeah i believe it

No, the scheme that has been the most successful in the NFL since he has employed it.

You were dissatisfied with Cunningham's play
Thursday?

Apparently BB at least remembers which players are available.
